"Great visit"
Staff are really friendly, genuine, professional and welcoming. Breakfast was on point, with a great selection. Very accommodating to your needs. Rooms are very clean.

"Bad"
We’ve stayed in Premier Inn hotels for years and have always felt we received exactly what we paid for -often pleasantly surprised, in fact. Unfortunately, this stay fell far below the standard we’ve come to expect.
From the moment we entered the car park, things were concerning. A large pothole, uneven ground, and unclear markings set the tone. Approaching reception, we were met with an old, non‑accessible bench topped with an overflowing cigarette ashtray. The smell alone was unpleasant before we’d even stepped inside.
Inside, the building felt deserted. I had to lean over the desk to see if anyone was there, and I was genuinely shocked by how unclean the reception area was. The keyboard and mouse were extremely dirty, so much so that I commented on it to the staff member, who ignored me, much like the rest of the stay.
We headed to our room (109) through the door on the right. The hallway had uneven flooring, an unpleasant smell, and holes in the walls.
When we entered the room, we were genuinely disappointed. The smell, the lack of light, and the overall condition were far below acceptable standards. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but this was below basic expectations. The bathroom skirting board was so water‑damaged it had crumbled onto the floor. The toilet paper dispenser released a single sheet of extremely rough paper. The taps were rusty, the sink unit was falling apart, and even the bin looked worn out. The shower was dirty and still had hair from a previous guest. I wouldn’t have walked barefoot in there, never mind showered.
The chair in the room was stained and had an unpleasant odour. The window didn’t open, which I understand from a safety perspective, but the air‑conditioning didn’t work either, leaving the room feeling very confined. The net curtain, hung on an extendable rod, fell down as soon as we entered and couldn’t be put back up, leaving us with a full view of the moss‑covered car park. At 7am, when I opened the curtains, a man in a van was looking directly in. The TV stopped working completely unless we screencast, which would have been manageable if three plug sockets and the USB port weren’t also broken. We left with one phone completely dead.
We tried to speak to someone at reception, but no one was ever there. Our time in England was short, and seeing family mattered more than waiting around to complain, so we left straight away, returned at 10pm, and checked out as soon as we woke. We genuinely wiped our feet on the way out.
Family visiting from Canada were also staying there, and their room was equally disappointing.
I’m frustrated that I didn’t take photos, because it’s difficult to convey just how poor the conditions were.
I am genuinely shocked that this hotel hasn’t been closed for a full refurbishment. Allowing guests to book in this condition feels completely misleading. I hope anyone considering staying here reads this first, and if you’ve already booked, I sincerely apologise.

"Very good."
This is our third stay at this Premier Inn whilst visiting friends locally. The staff were so friendly & helpful. My husband had a bad fall (off premises) , the staff on duty went out of their way to help us and make him comfortable and safe. It’s quiet and in a super location, and of course the beds are really comfy. It’s good value too.

"Chaotic but the staff pushed through"
Clearly understaffed at breakfast and the staff are working Thier hardest to manage this. Ready for a refurb and the rooms are shabby, particularly the bathrooms which were damp and mouldy.
