"Tired hotel in need of a renovation"
Worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed in. On arrival, met with a poorly lit car park, narrow spaces and clearly used as a dumping ground. Parking area felt slightly seedy each time I passed through the car park due to poor lighting. As a solo female I would not have wanted to access the car park and hotel entrance in the dark. Men stood in car park smoking each time I accessed area. Room clean but in very poor condition. Significant damp issues in bathroom, broken furniture and old looking carpet. Room needed a revamp. On the plus side, bed was comfortable and TV and kettle worked.

"On the way down"
A car park that was free is now charged. Reception is generally unmanned with nightmare machines to book you in, when I got a member of staff he was over familiar and constantly pushing me towards a machine, I DO NOT want to deal with machines all the time.
The room was a plus room, damaged headboard, curtains with pin holes in to let the light through, a shower that drained so badly it ended up like a foot bath, an extractor that could hardly extract. WiFi (their plus) that struggled to allow even emails to download. Meal deal that doesn’t include a cider, that’s an extra charge.

"Very happy"
Arrived early ( half an hour ) but the gentleman on reception was very helpful and booked us in . Great room on 3rd floor
Thank you . Location is outside of Winchester but only an 8 minute drive to the Cathedral

"Well worth a visit"
Location close to Winchester.
Clean and tidy room.
Value for money.
Quiet.
No Internet connection but I suspect you coukd ask them for their WiFi code but not listed in the room.

"AVOID! Poor hotel, poor nights sleep and Guest Helpline live in a different world!"
Booked online and was offered a standard room or accessibility room for 2 people - I booked a standard room. On arrival at the hotel, none of the team were in reception, so I thought I would use their self check in facility. Started to check in and noticed they had booked into an accessibilty room - NO WHAT I BOOKED! So i pressed the assitance button on the check in machine, continued to complete the check in process -- by the time I had finished the check in process, no member of their team came to assist us, so we went to the room. On arrival in the room, there was a lot of noice but we found it was the bathroom extractor and when the bathroom light was switched off that particular noise stopped. Also, only one towel had been assigned to the rom, so I had to find someone to provide another towel. Went to dinner and the young lady behind the bar said they wouldn't be serving and more dinners until 7.30pm (time now was 7pm). As a diabetic, I needed food and as I was on their meal deal I couldn't go somewhere else. Actually got seated and served right away from another waiter. Had Fish and Chips and the batter was so hard and the fish inside was so small, not a good meal. During the night when the room was quiet, we were disturbed all night by this whoosing wind noise, it appeared to be from two places, one about the door area which is teh heating system and another above the window where there were no ventilation vents, well not in our room. This prevented us from sleeping. In the morning we spoke to Barry their team member on breakfast. He was sympathetic and understood our concern. He said it sounded like their ventalation system which works 24 hours as, and in his words, "stops people from dying". He passed us the Guest Helpline to contact and he said he would make a report from the hotel side for us. He also said he would refund our beakfast which at the time of writting has not been received. After contacting Guest Helpline, they basically said they will not do anything as we didn't reort it during the night. Well one I wasn't aware we had to report it during the night, I wasn't wearing appropriate clothes to walk around the hotel to fing their night team (or was I supposed to get fully dressed to find someone) and bear in mind, they do not have phones in their hotel room. Very disappointed with this stay and their response.
