Southsea hotel

This is by far the best staff and service I’ve ever had in a premier inn. All were helpful, kind and did everything they could to make our stay amazing ! Hold on to them all ! They are amazing !

Location is good , staff is great- however complimentary breakfast is just a joke , "grab and go" with full hands and warm low quality instant coffee is something which should be improved

Building works are being undertaken, beware. Minimalist, miserable breakfast offerings in the tiny reception. Workmen left the main door into the hotel on the latch, big security risk. Even the restricted range of breakfast items were not available on two of the four mornings - no porridge pots. We had taken our own fortunately.

We had a very poor night's sleep due to constant movment of staff in the hotel linen room that was directly above our room. At the time, we assumed that footsteps were that of another guest and hoped they would stop. However, every hour or so, we were woken by foosteps. When I complained to the hotel staff in the morning, I was told that the linen room is not to be entered by staff when the room below is occupied. However, it was. The hotel admitted that they were likely the cause of our disturbance. I've submitted a claim for a refund under the Good Night Guarantee, however Premier Inn have rejected it because I didn't inform them at the time - the time when I was trying to sleep and hoped the footsteps would stop. Beware of this if you want to make a claim. Inform the hotel immediatley, even if you know it's goign to ruin your nights sleep. If you don't, Premier Inn will use a technicality to absolve themselves of responsibility, even if they admit liability. Additionally, the toilet didn't flush properly and the shower stank of sewage drains when we turned it on. All in all, we had an awful experience at this Premier Inn and will not return.

Ourbbooking, thank goodness, was for only one night in order to catch an early morning ferry from Portsmouth the following day. The place is a building site and is very dusty. The restaurant has been sold and is the process of being renovated by the new owners. The whole place looks old and tatty and it's not a patch on the more modern Premier Inns. The bed was just a double and the aircon did not work. Take my advice, don't waste your money like I did and stay somewhere else. The nearby Holiday Inn would be my choice for any future stays.
