"10/10 would stay here again"
Stayed here for a work trip, simple check in. My room was lovely and clean. Nice and quiet. Good range of tea, milk and coffee near the lift. Breakfast was lovely. Good distance to shops, bar and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!!
"Restless night due to noise"
Stayed for 1 night on a weekday. The check-in machines were not working (gave an error) so it was not possible to use them. I had to queue at the bar to get me key. The room was spacious and clean, and so was the bathroom. Lots of amenities, good room lighting and large mirror with surround lighting. The bathroom only had hand soap and a generic shower wash. The room was quite warm, but with the window open it cooled down. Unfortunately that meant it was noisy. My room faced the triangular car parking where building works were taking place, and also the multi story car park which also caused noise. The mattress was comfy and quite soft. The bar area was well-lit and the server was polite. The wine tasted off. When replaced, it was better but still not very crisp and therefore not really value for money. The bar toilets were very dirty (unflushed, unclean) and I wouldn’t recommend using them, at least not during my visit. Overall an ok stay.
"Good rooms and dinner, disappointing continental breakfast "
My wife, her parents and I stayed here for one night, before boarding our cruise. After having stayed at other Premier Inn hotels before, I was confident we would have a good stay. The rooms did not disappoint, they are great, including the beds and bathroom. Plenty of space, too. The sofa is perfect for laying 2 open suitcases side by side. We had dinner here as well, which we enjoyed. My hats off to Alina , who was working really hard to serve all the guests. Finally, breakfast was disappointing. I have been in many hotels, but never have I found a continental breakfast without boiled eggs, without slices of cheese (in fact, no cheese at all) and without sliced meat. Coming from the Netherlands, we missed all the essentials for our breakfast. Honestly, if this is nowadays the breakfast situation at all Premier Inn hotels, I would choose a different hotel for a future stay.
"Very good in most ways, but..."
Thus is a very good Premier Inn in nearly every way. It looks newish, it is opposite a big retail mall, close to the port if you are going on a cruise, has a good restaurant and bar, and the rooms are smart and comfortable. The but , however, is in the shower. The floor surface looks nice and is even slightly padded, but as soon as you use the shower gel the floor becomes like an ice rink; and there are no grab rails. Though we are both getting on in years we are not exactly ancient, but we both had to tread extremely carefully to avoid falling. I fear that these showers are an accident waiting to happen.
"Fantastic hotel, great for gigs at the Engine Rooms"
Pros - Fantastically clean and modern hotel, right next to West Quay shopping centre - Staff were pleasant and friendly - Superb for gigs at the Engine Rooms - Little t a 5 minute walk from the hotel. - Ample parking at the nearby West Quay Multi Storey - New Evolution style was very trendy and the purple lights in the bathroom were an interesting novelty. - The Premier Plus room upgrade was well worth the money - only £5 in this case and having a mini fridge was really helpful. Cons - None Stayed here for a gig at the Engine Rooms and given how close it was to the venue, I could not think of a better place to stay. It was good value for money (about £60 for a Tuesday night) and I genuinely cannot fault it. Comfortable, clean, modern decor, what more could you want. Overall it’s a great property and I’d gladly stay here again.
