"Thank you Tammie, Sara & Shaun"
Stayed here for 1 night before boarding a cruise liner, absolutely fantastic, Staff are outstanding & go above & beyond. Tammie & Sara couldn't do enough for us. Shaun ( chef ) was left short staffed & had to cope alone, his food was absolutely amazing, steak cooked to perfection the way we asked.
    "Outstanding"
Evening meal offer was outstanding value and food was amazingbreakfast was amazing room was clean and tidy bed very comfortable.staff were friendly and very helpful
"Short on staff, but friendly stop off"
Handy hotel for city centre, area is a bit run down, seems to be busy with airport and cruise passenger, restaurant is limited but breakfast is good, parking is expensive, NO ONE ANSWRES THE PHONE, automated system doesn't work either,
    "Stay Away!"
This is the worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. We came straight from Southampton Airport & were dropped off outside reception in a dull, dirty car park. As we arrived at approx 1000 we dropped our bags & headed into the city centre returning at around 2 for our pre paid early check in. Check went ok, reception is basic with self service check in machines. We had booked an accessible room with a bath, however the my companion was unable to use the bath as there was no seat/bath board & even tho it was a lowered bath she was unable to step in & most definitely wouldn't be able to get out - a rubber mat was available from reception!! The room was dull & very dated with 2 large free standing fans & an old fashioned plug in electric radiator!! A railway line ran directly below our window & was quite busy, however we didn't find it too disturbing. The bed was of average comfort, not of the usual Premier Inn comfort. Dinner was haphazard affair, 2 courses took 2.5 hours to complete with the restaurant being only half full with those that hadn't booked being turned away. Waiter James seems to have positive reviews on this page, personally I think he gets them out of sympathy as he has no people skills at all. The no.1 item on the menu Fish & Chip had run out as had 2 item on the dessert menu, this wasn't communicated until we placed an order. When asked if everthing was ok by James I mentioned the long wait time & he clammed up & wasn't interested in my complaint - why ask? Breakfast being self service went ok. There isn't an inch of paintwork in this building that isn't scratched or scuffed, Premier Inn need to close this down & refurbish/re-staff as a matter of priority. I will not be booking here again.
"Overpriced, and extremely poor condition hotel"
I'll start by saying the staff are great, really helpful and try to sort out any issues. We booked an accessible room which was seriously below par for Premier Inn and we asked to be moved. Unfortunately the second option was no better than the first. From what we saw of this hotel, it is in extremely poor condition decor wise and the overall feeling is that the entire building needs a serious overhaul and complete modernisation. We were charged £175 for the stay which was for the room and early check in. After contacting Guest Relations, we we given a £60 refund as a "good will" gesture. Even at £115, this hotel is not worth the money. If you need to stay centrally in Southampton, be sure to consider all options before booking this particular Premier Inn. I have stayed in countless Premier Inns the length and breadth of the UK, never have I seen one in such poor condition, it really let's the brand down. It is definitely not value for money at the rate we were charged.
