Southampton City Centre hotel

Whenever I’m in Southampton working, this is my hotel of choice. I’ve stayed here about three or four times and I’m here again. The staff are amazing. Especially Sara and Charlie who remembered me from last time. And we even carried on a conversation that we had over six months ago. Now that is customer service. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but it is clean at the end of the day. It is a city centre always full Premier Inn. The food was great, and the service was exceptional. I had an in-depth conversation with Sara and you can tell she absolutely loves her job and it shows her level of customer service is 2nd to none. The only negative is that this time I didn’t see the other manager who is rather pleasing on the eye which I have said before with tattoos. I’m sad to hear that he’s on crutches and I wish him a speedy recovery. Told you last time stop playing rugby LOL. Overall, another great day, I’ll be back next month when I’m down in this area again. Well done team.

Short walk from the train station which is good, (there are i think 3 premier inns around the centre so make sure you book the correct one). The area is not the worst and not the best , the park is nearby but at night that's full of rats. I'd be careful around the convenience store on Palmerston road also. The room is like any other Premier Inn but it doesn't seem to have any AC, when i checked in there were 2 fans in the room and the windows open and it was still a little stuffy, but at night with the one fan going it was ok, (had to close the window due to rail noise). Must have been fun this last summer during the heatwave. The shower had very little pressure in my room but it wasnt too bad and the lady in reception seemed nice when i reported it. Staff also sounded nice when they were ordering taxis for cruise passengers the night before. The place is about 20 mins walk to theb high street and westbury shopping centre. Its not terrible, but I wouldnt pay more than the cheapest Premier inn rack rate of 47 a night.

Another fantastic experience with the premier inn down new road Southampton Had a busy morning this morning and was running a little late but Kasia and Denisa in the restaurant was brilliant by ensuring I could still take advantage of breakfast and coffee to go Thank you ladies always very friendly and welcoming to both them and the rest of the team both in the restaurant, the reception and rest of the hotel

Room was filthy dirty, breakfast was awful. Room key stopped working and had to wait ages to try and find a member of staff for help during the evening

The hotel is really nice..lovely lady who was very helpful upon arrival..The food and service for the evening meal was shocking..it was not busy ( no surprise there ) and we waited over 30 minutes for each course..When we ordered the meal the girl told us that the children's meals were free, as we were ordering an adults meal..we asked if that included the drink and desert and was told yes...when we came to pay we were charged for these..My daughter ordered the spaghetti bolognaise which was awful..I ordered the curry which was supposed to have mango chutney with the poppadom.. it came without this..I had to ask where it was to be told they had ran out of it..no apology , would have been nice to have been told this when placing my order .Not happy at all. Will never eat here again .
