Southampton City Centre hotel

The location is good, next to the center and park. The hotel looks outdated. The bathtub finish was peeling, and the water pressure in the bath was weak. The beds are very comfortable. There is no air conditioning; we were provided with a very dusty fan. The carpet is old and dark. There are no European-style power outlets.The food selection was poor. I am not English and do not eat the type of breakfast that was given.

We were booked in for 3 nights, but left straight away. 1) The reception was flooded with the ceiling collapsing as we arrived. We were happy to move past this as leaks do happen, but it’s clear that this hotel is not maintained…. 2) Hotel was filthy (rooms & corridors). Dusted caked all over the room. Unclean carpets. 3) Room was incredibly hot with no air con. 4) Hotel is run down, with broken and stained furniture. 5) Paint and plaster hanging off the walls. Overall, we were shocked. Not the usual standard of Premier Inn that we’ve been used to all over the UK, the “know what you’re getting with Premier Inn” doesn’t seem to exist any longer. The Duty Manager was very pleasant.

Central location which was good. Parking at £14 per night. Good size room but not clean. Dust down the walls, sticky carpet a tv that volume would not work and hair in the bed and bathroom (not ours!) Room 210 also had annoying fan from next door bathroom humming all night. Painful!

Generally a bit on the shabby side room needed a upgrade see the pictures On the up side close to lots of eating and drinking places and the area has a good and safe vibe

Firstly want to say, the staff were so nice and friendly, the restaurant was very nice, really good food both nights, staff in restaurant very accommodating and friendly, rooms very clean, we paid a good price for two nights .. however, we could never stay here again for the sheer fact that the rooms get unbearably warm/hot, we were provided with three fans, but they were just circulating warm air, even though evenings it was cold outside the window offered no help as we couldn’t open it fully, we couldn’t get ready in the mornings sweat would just be dripping off you, had to shower bath my kids before bed in cool water as they were just dripping and clammy, such a shame because it’s a lovely hotel right in the centre, I read reviews after our stay, all saying the same thing and that they got rid of their air-con, I think that was a big mistake, i will be sure to check future hotels that state they have air con for this reason!
