Basingstoke West (Churchill Way) hotel

The room wasn't clean, it smelt damp, the furnishings were falling apart, most of the lights in the room didn't work and the restaurant was closed and they didn't inform us prior to us arriving, so we had no dinner nor any breakfast. Dont waste your money staying here.

So we booked in here overnight before our cruise. Before we arrive i kept getting emails to book the offer of evening meal and breakfast. Decide we would do it when we got there as we have done before. When we arrived we are greeted with signs saying "we have no restaurant sorry" why the hell didnt they email to say there was a problem, oh yes people may of cancelled. Well yes I would if cancelled and changed our plans. So whats on offer, costa, McDonald's with 10% off or pret. Have they ever thought that some people may not want those foods. We stayed at holiday inn the other month and have to say it was so much better. We have stopped at premier inns alot but I think its time to stop.

It was fine but not up to what we usually expect from a Premier Inn. Positives include plenty of parking and close to the activities we wanted to do. Negatives include it felt rundown, some maintenance issues, the restaurant was permanently closed with no similar pubs within walking distance and there need to be sockets next to the bed for convenience.

Don't book this hotel. Dirty, didn't honour booked breakfast and told no refund as it was booked as a deal. Vending machine out of order. Cups dirty toilet dirty, No restaurant despite taking restaurant bookings. TV Remote not compatible to setup Wake Up call. Reception wouldn't take Registration Number despite signs saying to provide this or risk a fine. No sockets near the bed.

All you need in a premier inn. Clean with friendly staff so can't complain plus free parking with ample spaces. The location was handy near some well known fast food restaurants and coffee shop.
