"Below Premier Inn’s expected standard."
The hotel is in dire need of modernisation. Part of it is a previous Beefeater Pub which is now mostly unused apart from upstairs as a restaurant and small bar area.
Main entrance is more akin to a delivery access.
To get from the rooms to restaurant you walk through a redundant part of the pub and up ( very grubby) carpeted stairs . You are greeted with a bar wide enough for 3 people to stand side by side at a push. If you wish to drink outside you have to take your drink back down the stairs and on a lengthy walk back through the redundant part of the pub , round the car park to the original seating area where the furniture is in a very tired state. There are a set of access doors which could be opened to make life a lot easier to get outside but I was told unfortunately this is not possible.
The rooms are clean and functional, no air conditioning though at all.
The food was to a good standard and the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Gemma was a star and made up for my general dissatisfaction with the place with her prompt and friendly bar and restaurant service and friendliness.
To sum up I felt this hotel fell well short of Premier Inns normal standards and there is certainly modernisation and decorating to be done. The rates charged are way too high for a sub standard hotel.
I guess for a travelling workman who just want to arrive late and get some sleep it is sufficient, however if you wish to wander down from your room and enjoy a few pre meal drinks in an outdoor and comfortable clean setting you will be severely disappointed.
Way below Premier Inn’s normal standards .

"Price to hight at £166.00per night"
I paid last night £ 160.00 for one night. I arrive 23.45pm after been discharged from the hospital in Stockport. I have look at they hotel website and they price is between £85 to £ 95 per night. I did ask why so much and told me that is the price.
I was not impressed with the price but all other hotel sroung where fully book. I had to take. Can someone confirm if this is correct. Thanks

"Great room"
Our first impression at the front was, "o dear". But once we got round the back it was better. The car park was free, shame they all don't do that. After the journey we needed to use the rest rooms which we did in the restaurant. It looked rough. But in all fairness they do seem to be revamping as the rooms were more or less new. We were greeted by Gemma. What a hoot. Lovely friendly and helpful. The corridor looked freshly carpeted as did the room and Very clean. Only stayed one night but everything was spot on as far as we were concerned. Didn't eat so can't comment about that. I would stay there again.

"do not stay."
had a family room booked for months and months for me, my 3 year old daughter, disabled mother and sister. when we arrived we walked into a tiny room with a double bed and 2 single pull out beds. room was disgustingly dirty, floor smelt like urine, towels were dirty had to go and get new towels and asked reception about the state of the room and whether it was a family room or not. got laughed at and shrugged off with saying ‘that’s the family rooms here’. never got offered a replacement room and never got offered for the room to be recleaned either. was dirty, the door looked like it had been chewed off a dog. whole place could do with being knocked down and rebuilt. spoke to reception more than once regarding it and got told to call when we left to complain, done this got offered a £39 refund off a 4 night stay. disgusting and still haven’t received any refund or confirmation of a refund.

"Good experience."
Evening meal was pretty good. Plenty of choice. Timely cooked (by Aaron) and served (by Helia & Mark).
Hotel room is a good standard and plenty of parking.
