Manchester Salford Media City hotel

Excellent location, right in the heart of Media City. Friendly, conscientious staff. Food & service in restaurant great. In spite of being in a relatively busy area, the rooms we had were very quiet. While the rooms were both clean & a generous size, some of the fixtures/furniture was showing its age (parts of bedside tables damaged). However, nothing could detract from the excellent location & value for money.

A very badly managed and highly disappointing experience at the property. With no service whatsoever, & no ability to handle any guest communication the guest is left to fend for themselves. Some maintenance issue meant I had no hot water in the morning of 5th May, no ability to communicate to any staff member (on site or regional). There is no phone in room, no QR code, no information as to what to do with either a regular issue or an emergency. I was left with zero options other than to take a cold shower. The hairdryer didnt work and there was no iron. The only on-site staff are breakfast room hostesses. When I tried to politely explain to the staff, it was apparent that no staff training has occurred as how to handle a genuine issue, nor was there any process of complaint handling other than "write in"; There is no discount nor refund just blank stares. My room was not serviced. Towels not changed. I had a door-knob message attached. Totally sub standard.

Absolutely love this hotel always book here staff are amazing So near Old Trafford Corrie media city I prefer this one to the one next to old Trafford

The poorest stay I’ve had in a Premier Inn in many years. I booked a Premier Plus room and the value for money compared to a standard room is negligible. Yes you get a coffee machine and a mini fridge plus free ultimate WiFi, but for the extra money this is not worth it in the slightest. I love Media City and Salford but this stay has been ruined to be honest, when showering I realised that the seal on the shower door was missing and so my room flooded and I had to use the only towel to soak up the water meaning I had to use my hand towel to dry myself as I was only supplied one towel. Breakfast was awful with wafer thin overcooked and greasy bacon, plus stodgy watery scrambled egg. The mushrooms were dry and poor and the toaster was either warming bread or burnt. Yes I should have complained, but by this point I just drank my coffee and had a pain au chocolate and left. I decided to go back to my room and pack and leave. I was going to the United v Liverpool game and so I ate a breakfast roll near the ground which was absolutely lovely, such a shame but at least United won and saved my weekend…
