"Good hotel for concerts and exploring the city!"
Handy hotel if you're going to a concert and want somewhere close to the venue and shops. Rooms are OK and it has a bar and restaurant. We had a corner room and the layout was quirky! There is a lack of plugs in the room and if you like to charge your phone next to the bed or, like us, took a teenager with you who has to charge phones and headphones, be prepared to charge everything in one corner of the room, but no where near where your sleeping.
Staff seem a bit stressed and there is lack of staff generally around the hotel, for such a big hotel, you'd expect to see a lot more staff around. We waited a while to be seated at breakfast and its was OK, the breakfast room is depressing and feels like a dated school canteen. Don't expect to see lots of choices, hot selection was good, as long as you time it right. I managed to get some sausages and eggs but my wife had to wait around until they brought some more out!
I would be annoyed if i had only paid for the continental option though, one choice of pastries, crumpets that took ages to toast, fruit salad but only dirty bowls available and when you get back to your table, you then have to scout around the restaurant, trying to find cutlery. Plus you cant ask staff as they're not around and the ones that are, look ready to quit!
We've stayed in other premier inns around the city and there are other ones that look a lot more modern and offer a wider choice of breakfast, plus the staff look like they want to be there.
Overall, the stay was alright, just the breakfast experience didn't give us the 'buzz' you get from the adverts!

"Ripped off with parking, hotel gone downhill"
Always stayed here due to location and prive to park however 1 night parking is supposed to be £10 but when checking out that turned into £20 and the reception just said its not their issue, good luck getting hold of staff everything is now do it yourself, middle lift sounded like it was going to fall apart when we went in it, no glasses in the room either and dirty bath, been here many times but this will be the last

"Hotel needs a revamp"
We had booked two night break in this hotel we had two rooms the rooms were spacious but dirty carpets chipped furniture hardly any hot water massive draft from my bedroom door staff were friendly with what contact I had with them but the whole hotel needs a serious revamp it is dirty outside & inside not a great building at all the premier inn would seriously need to have a look about revamping this hotel as it is in a great location but needs a lot of work

"Disappointed "
I booked this hotel on the 27th June has me and my son was going watching the cricket at Old Trafford cricket ground and decided to make a night of it,on booking the room ( twin) the price we paid was £76 I thought it was a bit expensive for a Sunday night but took on board the cricket was on man united were playing at home against arsenal so has a event was on is usually why price is higher,to my dismay couple of days had passed and the price went down to £42 Inot being funny but that's £34 difference to which I felt very agreived by even on the day of arrival it was only £59 so in future I think this will make me think twice about using premier Inn I have never heard of the price reducing.
Check in - Check in was bit of a faff I checked in on line and thought it should be straight forward I offered up my phone to the QR scanner which didn't work I had to put my booking reference in the foyer was quite full and only one member of staff that seemed stressed we finished the process eventually our room was room 307 .
Room - We made our way up to the room as we entered the corridor to our room there was a very strong smell of cannabis, not a good start really in our room you couldn't smell the cannabis but on coming out of the bathroom you were hit with the smell I reported this to reception to which his reply was I will get someone to come up and spray the corridor which I think should of been investigated but to my knowledge wasn't other than that the room was adequate nothing special think premier Inn could do with a re branding has it's looks tired.
Bar - Having been to the cricket and being a long day we decided to go back to the hotel and have a night cap I noticed that there was a gentleman at the bar and me and my son but nobody behind the bar which I believe is open 24 hours we was waiting for around five to ten minutes and then a member of staff came and served us he apologised for the wait but said he was on reception has well which in my eyes is totally wrong has the reception and bar area were on separate floors all being it it is separated by escalators but it's wrong to expect one person to control both areas the bar area had a few patrons which seemed to be football fans to which we had a lively debate about the days activities.
Deliberation - All in all this visit was a bit disappointing from the check in to the smell of cannabis to which seemed lack of staff,I have a room booked for a night in September to which may be the last time I stay at premier Inn to which I have stayed in for around twenty years and eventually worked at but standards are slipping and we are not getting value for money anymore sorry for the extended review but it's a honest one.Up your game it's truly needed.
