"A tale of two halves"
Another stay here for a couple of nights. As always, the rooms are good quality, clean and great value for money. In my opinion this is probably one of the better Premier Inns in the UK. Arrived at the hotel around 2.45pm knowing check in was 3.00pm so didn’t use the early check in option which is from 11.00am. If you know you are going to be early, then it is well worth paying the extra for this facility. Check In Went to reception desk to authorise parking. We were greeted by a guy who I felt had an air of arrogance about him. He came across as though he owned the place. I think his name was Bruce ( no name tag) but I heard staff speak to him. He seemed to just walk round the place and do nothing! We ordered a drink whilst waiting to check in. It appeared there was a shift change around 3.00pm as the staff that took over had a much better approach to customer service despite being extremely busy with customers. Customer service is everything.........maybe Bruce should watch and learn how it’s done. We went to the “Social” bar for a drink and ended up staying for evening drinks and a meal. The same staff who checked us in were working and were very friendly. The restaurant was extremely busy, yet they worked hard and most importantly with smiles on their faces and communicated in a professional/pleasant manner. On the second night we had a drink and a meal at the hotel again. The same staff were working as the previous night. On arrival whilst plugging in my phone charger I managed to knock my pint over. The next thing I knew one of the bar staff, a guy called Chris was over like a shot cleaning up everything including rescuing my mobile phone which took a direct hit. Nothing was too much trouble for him. I remembered him from a previous visit......he came over to help when I was struggling at check in. I think Hannah was the manager on both evenings. Kane, Chris and a young girl (didn’t get her name) were the bar restaurant staff. I feel they are all a credit to the hotel. On the second morning I went to reception to ask if the people in the room above us were checking out due to the kids playing football in the room until 11pm and then from 7am. It was a constant thud. Bruce and his team confirmed they weren’t and offered no solution to the problem other than come down to reception if it happens again. If I'm woken up by thud thud thud late evening, I wouldn't be too happy at having to get out of bed and trot off to reception to let them know!!! Breakfast is good value for money and well presented. The service was good, and food was constantly topped up.
"10/10"
Kane was the friendliest guy we've ever come across at a premier inn or any hospitality for that matter. So polite and attentive and it was lovely to hear about his travellibg tales which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for the positive experience Kane.
"Lovely family reunion"
We travelled from Edinburgh to surprise a family member on her birthday. Great service by staff at evening meal - especially Hannah, who dealt with us all brilliantly.
"Don’t bother!"
Don’t bother phoning reception. Despite all the ‘24 hour service’ adverts, it’s a load of rubbish. No one answers, The only good thing about this hotel (Trafford Centre West) is its proximity to the Trafford Centre. Charging too much for an at best mediocre service!
"Family stay."
Celio the waiter was exceptional, first class service, the best we ever have had .However now being charged for parking 😔
