"Spoilt by awful breakfast experience"
The room (Premier Plus) was absolutely fine, even if a bit smaller than I’ve had in other Premier Inns. No staff to help at check-in, but that wasn’t a huge problem. Issues started at breakfast the following morning. 1/ Waited 5-10 minutes to be acknowledged & seated. A couple of staff members passed me, but instead of acknowledging my being there, just carried on with whatever duty/task they were involved in. Would it have been difficult to have quickly said something along the lines of “Sorry sir, we’ll be with you shortly…”. A little thing, that would’ve made a real difference to me, & my overall breakfast experience. 2/ Was eventually seated by a gentleman, who I later found out was the breakfast manager. I don’t mind ‘casual’ attire, but this man in grey jeans, looked a tad scruffy - I know PREMIER INN, isn’t the Ritz, but come on… it didn’t look very professional. 3/ As I was seated, I asked d the gentleman seating me IF I could order some veggie sausages, & veggie bacon. Still find it annoying that these items actually have to be ordered, rather than readily available like the meat versions. We agreed in 2 of each, I got a Coffee, & some cereal. I finished those, & waited… & waited… after 40 minutes, I asked the breakfast manager if my ordered veggie items were imminent. He looked shocked - ‘Are they not here yet?’. I waited another 5 minutes before he returned, & shockingly said ‘They’re just doing them for you now. Do you still want them?”. I finished everything else a good 30 minutes earlier, & wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. Who knows how long they’d have actually been, considering the list of waits I’d already endured. I declined his offer. Hats off here to the awesome lady now in the reception desk, he went above & beyond to deal with disappointing breakfast experience. This has put me off future Premier Inn breakfasts, & certainly off staying at this particular hotel again.
"Weeked Away"
came to Manchester for a weekend away to meet up with my friends nice hotel for few nights clean and in a ideal lcation of Manchester
"Nice but noisy"
Lovely size room with a nice city view. The windows were quite dirty though. I usually have a great nights sleep in a Premier Inn but I did not on this occasion as the trams rumbling past every few minutes disturbed my sleep throughout the night. So better sound proofing or better glazing would be an improvement
"Comfortable stay in the heart of Manchester"
Great location for Manchester city centre; comfortable room with usual great bed, easy to get restocks of tea and coffee - quiet and easy.
"Mostly good, but a disappointing breakfast"
We spent one night here before flying out from Manchester to Aberdeen. I selected the hotel because it was close to the tram stop at St Peter's Square, where we could catch the tram to the airport. The room was the usual Premier Inn style, and had a sofa bed and a double bed. We ate in the hotel restaurant. Our original choice - the Sunday roast - wasn't available, so we opted for fish and chips and beef and ale pie with mash. Our meals were quite pleasant, and reasonably priced. There is a tram track along the front of the hotel, so you might want to ask for a room away from the trams if this is a problem. I had paid for what I thought was "unlimited cooked breakfast", where I can choose what and how much I want of different items. I wasn't really impressed that, instead of being able to select our own food, our order would be taken and plated up for us. We both were given quite alot of mushrooms, certainly more than we would have chosen if we'd had the option of a breakfast buffet. I knocked a point off my review for the breakfast not being what I had expected, because otherwise our stay was very good. It will be a Continental breakfast next time though.
