Manchester Central hotel

We booked and paid in advance but when we turned up they had difficulty finding our booking. Okay, we got over that one, everyone has a bad day sometimes. Our was just great, no problems there but when we went for breakfast we were showing as not having paid. Back to the computer where the right information was found. So we sat down to a really great breakfast. In conclusion, this business is run by its computer systems and they are meant to make things easy for both staff and customers. In this case they caused us untold aggravation and spoiled our stay.

Great location for the convention center. parking is expensive at the local 24 hr station. clean rooms, - its a premier inn. nice bar area and food is a bit hit and miss. We also have chef/staffing issues 12pm lunch time can be 2pm due to limited staff. Expensive around conventions, but great location.

Perfectly acceptable accommodation at a reasonable price, although our standard room was becoming a bit tired. Bed and lines were fine. There are many reviews so I will attempt to just put a few comments to assist travellers. Check in, unless pre-booked, is definitely 3.00pm. Although staff are very happy to store luggage if you arrive early. Similarly on the day of departure, staff will keep your luggage until you require it. Breakfasts do not need to be booked in advance. The key card system means that the hotel is quite secure, as all the cooridors have security locks. The showers in the room are of the rainfall type, and perfectly adequate, but there is no adjustable spray. If you choose to not bother with room service, then spare tea/coffee and milk is available free in reception. This complex is very close to Bridgewater Hall, and the Britons Protection pub opposite the Theatre is a delightfull old property. If you can afford it, pop into the Midland Hotel (nearly opposite) for a cocktail, simply delightful. The central library in St Peters Square has excellent maps of Machester. Closed on Sundays.

Enjoyed my stay here - great location. Louie who was serving in the bar was great fun and good to chat with as a solo traveller

Location is excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. We booked a premier plus room (2nd floor) at a reasonable price but we had some problems with the hot water supply. Always cold at the sink tap despite running it for ages (a waste of water) but the shower was okay on this visit. On our previous visit (2nd floor premier plus room) there was no hot water at all and customer services gave us a partial refund as we had to boil the kettle to get washed. Management really need to have this issue investigated and resolved. We paid for breakfast and whilst not great it was acceptable. The inconsistent hot water supply puts us off staying again.
