"Easter family trip - 2026"
stayed over Easter whilst visiting family. Beds were very comfy, as was the cleanliness of the hotel and the overall service. No parking out the front except for drop offs but as it was Easter, there were reduced rates and you can park for 2 hours outside the town hall, or the main car park. The hotel was busy but peaceful and quiet. Great location for Bury markets and the steam train, and for exploring Manchester and the surrounding area

"You don’t know what your getting with this premier inn!"
Worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
We booked for two nights so we could take our son on the East Lancashire rail experience. We checked in room 217 on the first day and the smell that greeted us was awful. The window was already open so someone was clearly aware of the issue. We were tired so decided to persevere with the smell until my son put the air con on and the room was instantly filled with a stench that we couldn’t tolerate so we ran to reception and they gave us a key to another room. The restaurant was closed because there was no chef and when we said we were relying on the restaurant for our son to eat tea they suggested getting a take away. I feel sorry for the staff, they were a two member team at best and clearly overwhelmed and overworked.
Tried to call customer services and no one to deal with it- shambles
Not only will we not be Back to this hotel I doubt we will ever book a premier inn again.

"Pillows are a must for a good night's sleep!."
We have stayed here for one or two nights on may occasions now. Really nice and clean on arrival. Staff are mostly around when you arrive to check-in or you can use the quick check-in thats available to do yourself.
I do have to ask for a extra mug because we have 3 guests in total and only have two mugs on the room.
I was surprised we had 3 lot of towels in our bathroom already, but I did ask for extra just incase we didn't have 3. Last time we didn't so happy we already had them this time plus being in a family room.
Family room was nice and big and always like the end rooms because I find these don't get so hot like the standard family rooms.
Still like all Premier inn they lack on pillows actually on the beds when you walk in (just one each) they use to have 2 per person and they are nice and plump, but now flat and not a nice pillow. I know they have extra 2 in bags on the wardrobe but would be nice to go back to the original 2 pillows without having to share them in a family room.
Breakfast was really nice and hot with everything you need and if something you needed cooking to order the staff are happy to cook it for you with no problems to them at all.
Breakfast is always good here and staff are always to hand if you need anything etc.
Can get busy at times but we have always been for breakfast when not so busy and all cooked food is always out for you.
It's a great place to stay easy distance for the shops and market.
I do recognise some of the staff from staying last time, but don't know names but one member of staff is always happy to help if I want something cooking for breakfast and very pleasant 😊

"Worst customer service ever"
I'm trying to think of when I have had a worse front of house experience in my life but I'm struggling to recall any. It's quite something when the protracted absence of anyone at all to speak to you was an actual better experience than when someone could be bothered to respond to being searched out. Ringing the bell for attention. Hunting round the ground floor. Knocking on doors. Shouting. Nothing. When someone did bother responding, being told to sit down and wait. Yes they were in a handover. We were in a hurry. That's allowed isn't it? Sure handovers need to happen but customers happen. And from there it got worse. I'm clearly annoyed and the woman on reception starts having a go at me. No attempt at compromise. Tutting, shaking her head, telling me I'm wrong to be annoyed. And then telling me I shouldn't even look at her as I'm trying to intimidate her? No, I just want to check in and get out quickly. Really poor

"Didn't quite meet expectations."
We've stayed here at Bury on several occasions and always enjoyed our stay. On this occasion I was a lone traveller. Lenny Henry is absolutely correct in the ads, the beds are really comfortable with superb mattresses.
I only wish I could echo Lenny's words " a great night's sleep"........
05:55 and there's a delivery happening beneath my window with a guy who's just not bothered about the actual time of day it was.
I was due to be up at 8 o'clock and struggled to get back to sleep.
I checked out around 8.30 and thought I'd just mention my experience to the reception staff.
No point as there was nobody on the desks and I had a schedule to keep.
I'd rather not be writing in a negative way as my wife and myself have had many a great stay here.
I feel next time we may decide to make alternative arrangements.
Thank you.
