Manchester Airport (Heald Green) hotel

Stayed for one night pre flight from MAN. Thankfully it was no longer than that. The staff did their best but the place is tired and the restaurant was awful, let alone expensive for the quality and slow.

Bedroom and bathroom was generally unclean with cob webs everywhere. The bathroom and toilet smelled of sewage. The shower pressure was very poor. Sound insulation very poor with overhead aircraft noise. The beds were comfortable as usual and breakfast was good.

Absolutely shocking lack of staff. Breakfast was not unlimited and had to be ordered item by item. Orange juice and apple juice containers were filthy. No toasting machine. Coffee machine stopped working and no regular milk. No staff on reception. Don’t bother staying here.

Yes it's a bit tired and old but our room was clean and the staff were really friendly. Most importantly it was totally quiet (1st floor). We got in at 2am and slept until 8.30am without being disturbed. It's a no frills stay with cheap towels and old fittings but if you need a bed for the night it's perfectly good.

This hotel could do with an update but it is clean, the breakfasts were good and the staff are amazing. We stayed here for two nights last week and on the second day I discovered I'd brought two right feet sandals with me (thanks Boohoo!) just before we were due to leave the hotel for a funeral. My husband asked the cleaning team if there was anywhere close by where I could quickly go to to buy a new pair of shoes. There was an Asda a 10 minute drive along the road but we didn't have a car. Shortly after, the Head Housekeeper Kirsty knocked on our door and offered to take me there! I couldn't believe it. Talk about going above and beyond! Anyway, Kirsty drove me to the Asda store and even came in to help me find an alternative pair of shoes that I could wear with my dress. Absolutely amazing. You'll not get that level of dedication in many other establishments. THANK YOU KIRSTY!!!
