London Wimbledon (Broadway) hotel

Great staff at this hotel, friendly and smiley, I was checked in by Lorena who was very chatty and helpful. Hotel in great location to Central London with great transport links.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and we strongly bitten by bed bugs and the hotel and Premier Inn didnt contact us. We emailed several times and are looking forward to getting our money back! And it happened with 2 families in 3 different rooms. I used to stay before and everything was ok.

I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights, spread over the working week and the weekend. Before I go much further with this review I offer the following caution, which in no way affects the hotel. In the weekends maintenance activities tend to happen on the train system in the weekend. With most things you wish to do probably not near the hotel when train lines are taken down for maintenance makes things more difficult, or expensive (I ended up using 3 Ubers to get to/fro 2 activities). There ere are two train stations about 10 minutes walk away, offering different tracks which aids getting to your location. I brought the hotels meal package covering both breakfast and the evening meal. Breakfast and dinner never seemed to be that busy irrespective of what time I was attending. The evening meal deal is only taken up by a small number of guests (they tick you off a master list when you arrive). Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of cooked and uncooked foods. Hash browns only made it to breakfast for a couple of days. The evening meal is when things got interesting. For the first couple of nights I had no idea what drink/main/desert or entree was included with the deal. The hotels menu offers a large variety of options, despite eating at the hotel for 5 nights in a row I never had the same thing twice. On the third night I was given a A4 sheet explaining what/how the meal deal worked which would have been great to have on the first night. For the first couple of nights the hotels service to the point of ordering was extremely slow, but once order had been placed things flowed well. I looked at the menu in my room wrote down what I wanted to eat and when approached by a server gave them my drink. main and desert choice. My hotel Premiere room 616 was extremely quiet (the premier rooms are located on the top 3 floors of the hotel), I never heard a fellow guest or external noise, this was probably in part as my hotel room faced an internal courtyard - this will be one of the quietist hotels I have ever stayed at and hence sleep quality was very good. The room was very dark at night, helped by excellent curtains that went over each other to stop light entering the room. The small in room fridge never made any noise I heard. The hotel offers no room servicing for the duration of your stay, teas/coffees/sugars etc can be replenished at a help yourself station opposite reception. I thought on my 3rd nights stay I would put the refresh my room tag out, however no one attended my room when I returned latter in the day. The room had a proper shower cubicle (rather than shower over bath), it was a god size and well finished shower offering both a dumper and traditional shower head. That is where the good news runs out for the shower, no issue with water temperature, but water pressure was appalling despite having the shower set on its maximum output setting. The bed was very comfortable. The room had plenty of accessible power points to charge your tech with. I purchased the ultimate WiFi which worked very well, but has two limitations, you are restricted to two simultaneous connections, but can drop a device and add another. The way the WiFi gets connected/works is that you are emailed a code for every night of your stay and your WiFi will die around 24 hours after you put in the last code, you choose the next code which is then good for another 24 hours. The lighting in the room was generally very good other than at the desk. The desktop lamp did not adequately light the entire desk. There was no ceiling light over the desk.

All staff we interacted with were very good. The one guy in the bar/resteraunt was very good and friendly (sorry mate, didnt catch your name) The carpets in the corridors were food stained, carpets in the room appeared bleach stained. Bathroom was tired, bath screen delaminating - just looked tired and unkempt. It was OK for the money but I wont be rushing back as many other options in Wimbledon. Location was great, close to centre of Wimbledon and easy access to train station. Loads of eating options locally and Tesco sainsbury options close. There is a car park close by - not sure of the prices. Overall pretty average but all needs a good clean

The hotel is on the main shopping are and between Wimbledon's main and Underground stations and near the bus station. There was a warm welcome which isn't common in London and quick check-in. The room was the usual Premier Inn with a bath, comfy beds and no opening windows, i'm not sure if I was in a plus room without the coffee maker or not. It was reasonably clean but looks like it's ready for a refurb or a lick of paint. Breakfast was the usual serve yourself buffet but this hotel didn't have the mass pile in and stuff yourself silly guests, hot food does get cold as it's left to stand uncovered. Prices are based on demand and were very high even for a Saturday.
