"Perfect stay for a concert"
We booked this Premier Inn as my son was going to a concert in the OVO Arena and this came up as one of the closest hotels. In terms of value for money, this hotel was fab. It was clean, warm, and the facilities were all in good, updated condition. We couldn't check in until 3 but the staff kept our bags for us in a locked room with a 'cloakroom ticket' kind of system so we could explore knowing we didn't have to lugg heavy bags around with us.
The reception staff were all friendly and there was an option for self check in.
One of the lifts was out of action and the restaurant was closed for refurbishment which was a shame as we were looking forward to a Premier Inn breakfast! Having said that, there were plenty of eateries close by so nothing major.
I was surprised by the room. It was spacious, warm, clean and comfy with everything you could need... Including extra pillows! It was also surprisingly quiet considering the location!
We would have liked an extra key as this was needed to access the lift but meant that if one went out of the room the other would have to sit in the dark! We probably could have requested this at reception but we did only stay one night so it was fine.
In terms of location for both the stadium and OVO we couldn't have asked for more. It was quite literally overlooking both.
Overall I'd be more than happy to stay there again.

"Looks good at first, but cleanliness, security and maintenance issues spoiled the stay"
This was a personal trip for myself and my daughter as I had a business conference in Wembley on the Monday, and we were also planning to spend some time together for Mother’s Day. We had hoped to have dinner in the hotel restaurant before going out in the evening. Although checkout wasn’t until 12pm, we were up early at around 6am and packed by about 6:30am. I left briefly for my meeting and returned around 9am, and as we were already ready to go we checked out shortly afterwards.
The self-service check-in and check-out process was quick and straightforward, which was definitely a positive. Everything can be done through the hotel app or the touchscreens in the lobby, and you can print multiple key cards at the same time which is convenient when more than one person is staying.
We booked a Premier Plus room with a view for £68, which initially seemed like good value. The room included upgraded drinks such as Nespresso capsules and Hukka Earl Grey tea, and there was also a station in the lobby where guests could collect additional tea bags, coffee capsules, milk and sugar. That was a nice touch. However, while sitting in the lobby waiting for a takeaway delivery we watched a family repeatedly filling their pockets with large amounts of the complimentary supplies and staff didn’t appear to notice.
At first glance the room looked clean and fresh, but it didn’t take long before we noticed several issues. Near the chair under the window there were what appeared to be dead skin or toenail clippings on the floor. The bed had been made, but the bedding underneath the sheet was scrunched up leaving a noticeable lump which we had to fix ourselves by partially remaking the bed.
The bathroom also showed several signs of poor cleaning and maintenance. Under the shower caddy there was a build-up of grime and dried shampoo or conditioner, and there was hair left in the sink that clearly wasn’t ours. The bottom of the shower screen had dried shampoo residue that hadn’t been wiped away, and along the silicone seal where the glass meets the tray the frame had come away slightly leaving mould and dirt trapped in the groove. Similar dirt markings were visible on the shower wall tiles.
The extractor fan also didn’t appear to be working. Within minutes of showering the bathroom filled with steam, which made it very clear that the tiles had only been partially cleaned – you could clearly see where the cleaning stopped higher up the wall.
Because the bathroom floor has no bath mat or non-slip surface, it also became extremely slippery after showering or bathing. Even an hour later the floor was still very slick, and we ended up placing one of the towels on the floor to avoid slipping when going back into the bathroom.
Security was another concern. The main entrance doors open automatically and anyone can walk straight in and head for the lifts. There is a sign indicating that after a certain time residents should tap their key card to enter, but when we returned later that evening (around 11:20pm) the doors were still opening automatically without anyone needing to tap a card.
When we returned that evening the reception desk itself was unattended. The desk is located on the right side of the lobby near the restaurant area. On the opposite side of the lobby, past the lifts and down a short corridor, there is a room used by staff. During the evening we saw staff going in and out of this room, and when the door was open it was possible to see storage racks and towels inside. Staff would walk across the lobby from reception to that room and back. However, when we re-entered the hotel later that night there was no staff member present at the desk or visible in the lobby.
There are also doors on each floor that appear to require key cards to access the corridors, but these didn’t seem to be functioning and could simply be opened. Because of this the first real level of security is the door to your room itself. We ended up locking and wedging the door for extra peace of mind.
At times there also seemed to be a large number of people coming and going in the building, particularly around some of the lower floors, which gave the hotel a very busy and transient feel.
There was also confusion around the restaurant. During the check-in process we were offered the option to add a two-course evening meal and unlimited breakfast package, which we purchased at £26.99 per person. However, when we later went down in the evening we saw a notice in the lift stating that the restaurant was closed and would not be open for some time. This had not been mentioned on the website or during booking, and the check-in system still allowed us to purchase the meal deal. I had to go to the lobby and explain that we had paid for the meal package and would therefore need a refund.
After returning home I noticed several other recent reviews mentioning the restaurant being closed as well, which suggests this may have been an ongoing issue. If that’s the case it would be helpful for the hotel to make this clear during the booking process.
We also purchased the Ultimate Wi-Fi package for £5 for 24 hours, but unfortunately it was extremely slow and unreliable. Despite paying for the upgraded Wi-Fi it was barely usable at times and we ended up relying on our mobile data instead.
Although the hotel is advertised as non-smoking, we could smell cigarette smoke in the corridor at one point, suggesting the rule isn’t always being enforced.
Later in the evening we stepped outside the entrance briefly for a cigarette and during the ten minutes we were there several people coming out of the hotel approached us asking for cigarettes. One person in particular repeatedly tried to engage us in conversation, commenting on our appearance and asking questions about how long we were staying and what we were doing in the area. Despite us making it clear we were not interested in talking, they continued trying to get our phone numbers which made the situation uncomfortable.
To be fair, the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. For example, when we ordered a takeaway and realised we didn’t have any cutlery, a member of staff kindly went into the closed kitchen and brought some out for us.
However, the overall condition of the hotel felt quite tired and poorly maintained. Some door locks around the building were broken, the lobby furniture looked worn and uncomfortable, and the carpets in the bedroom were stained and clearly in need of a deep clean.
Overall, the easy check-in process, helpful staff and the Premier Plus room extras were positives. However, the cleanliness issues, maintenance problems, poor Wi-Fi, lack of functioning corridor security doors and the confusion around the restaurant being closed made the stay less comfortable than expected.
Hopefully the hotel will review the cleaning standards, maintenance issues and the corridor security doors so future guests have a better experience.

Good location for attending a concert or a ball game in Wembley. Besides the drum for games and concerts, there are lots of restaurants and shops for food and shopping.
The room size is good for 2 adults; we stayed 2 nights, but there was no one to do the housekeeping, and we were not informed when we checked in. It's good that we didn't eat in our room, and we don't have much trash.
The bathroom does not have an air vent; it is very moist after a bath, and it feels really uncomfortable.
The bed is comfortable, and we have good sleep.
The staff are friendly, and the lobby is a good size for a small group of people to gather before going out.
