London Southwark (Southwark Station) hotel

We have just stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. There are lots of great points but the best of all is the staff. They are all so friendly, helpful and hard working. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so cheerful. They really stood out to us. Each and every one of them. We ate dinner on two nights and it was lovely. Really good value with meal deal options. We had breakfast once and that was great too. The location was perfect as you can easily reach all the tourist attractions but it’s in a nice, quiet area that feels very chilled. We had a family room and it was perfect for our needs. We would happily stay here again. A big thank you to the staff there who made our stay so great!

Great location, safe neighbourhood, hotel and rooms clean, quiet, cozy. 1 min away from Southwark subway, 6 minutes from Waterloo. Lots of different restaurants, 2 supermarkets nearby. 15 minutes walk from Westminster bridge-Big Ben.

We enjoyed a family stay at this hotel. I had contacted prior to arrival to which I received a courtesy call to discuss my requests and assured they could be met. I was looking for 2 rooms together for our family, they also said they would leave some goodies for the kids. When we checked in they assured us the other room was assigned to us but when we returned they gave us a room on another floor at the opposite end of the hotel. This was frustrating and disappointing due to the lengths I had gone to to avoid this. Unfortunately our first night meant our family was split up, however they were able to rectify this on our 2nd day, although it did cause concern that we may return to a similar situation. Thankfully not. The staff were kind and apologetic for their error. It did taint the holiday and would make me nervous about booking in the future with the worry that this would happen again. It was disappointing that they didn't leave anything for the kids either, when they had offered on the phone, I did not ask or request this. Paul and Gladys were apologetic for the error that happened, they were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is not huge, it has a good restaurant with a good buffet breakfast. It is in close proximity to the tube station and there are a number of cafes and restaurants nearby which was good.

Perfect Location near to tube station , second time we have stayed here lovely clean rooms bed is so comfortable , staff are very friendly , helpful & polite , noise level is minimal just a perfect stay while visiting London , also self service all you can eat breakfast is delicious a vast range of breakfast items & morning drinks to suit all . Just a perfect stay .

Stayed here for one night while visiting London and it's a mixed bag if I'm honest. For around £200 a night you'd expect the basics to be covered, and in some areas they weren't. The location is the real highlight. Easy walking distance from Southwark station and well connected for getting around the city without any hassle. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout which made a genuine difference, and the room itself was a decent size. The shower wasn't particularly clean on arrival, with dry water spots and visible grime that housekeeping should have picked up before check-in. The bed also had a noticeable dip in it and was quite squeaky, neither of which makes for a great night's sleep, especially at this price point. One thing that genuinely gave me pause was the layout around the glass skybridge. At least two rooms on the 4th floor sit on the far side of it with no visible alternative means of escape, and there appear to be further rooms in the same situation on the floors below. The fire evacuation notice on the back of the room door made no reference to any special considerations for these rooms, just a generic instruction to head to the assembly point. It may well be fully above board, but it's an unusual setup that's worth being aware of if you're allocated one of those rooms. A solid base for a London visit thanks to the location and the staff, but at this price point the basics need to be right. Wouldn't put me off staying again, but hoping for a bit more attention to detail next time.
