London Southwark (Bankside) hotel

Hotel was well located for Borough Market. It was next door to the Anchor pub. The room was clean and adequate for our needs. It was however quite noisy. We were woken up early by several factors; 1. People in the room above walking around. Sounded like a herd of elephants. The ceilings must be very thin. 2. Two of the three mornings of our stay we had refuge lorries outside our window at 7am. 3. The other morning also at 7am we were woken by a beer delivery to the pub. The windows could do with some insulation or additional glazing to reduce the external noises.

Booked a plus room. Air con broken Paid £6 for ultimate wifi - didn’t work and kept switching back to mobile data. Hotel is tired Only plus was that check in team were pleasant and efficient.

We stayed at Premier Inn London Southwark (Bankside) for a family gathering and found it to be a comfortable, well-located base for exploring London. The hotel is just beyond Southwark Bridge and virtually next to Borough Market, with London Bridge Underground and mainline station within walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable, with crisp linen, a king-size bed, a TV, kettle and coffee pod machine. The bathroom was a good size, although the shower pressure was extremely poor and the water became disappointingly lukewarm during our stay. There are only four parking spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis, so alternatives may be needed. The hotel has a lift and accessible rooms, but narrow corridors, doorways and the cobbled entrance could create difficulties for wheelchair and scooter users. We also noticed a lingering damp smell from the air conditioning, and another room had a blocked sink. However, reception staff dealt with issues sympathetically, and Adrian was particularly friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a reliable Premier Inn in an excellent location. It is not luxurious and the price is fair rather than cheap, but the comfortable rooms, convenient setting and exceptional service earned it 4/5. We would return. Want to read the full review? Just horrid. Never again. Staff super friendly but hotel is shockingly bad. Location is the only positive thing about this property

Perfect location for a very short trip to London. Perfectly located for easy access to restaurants, tourist attractions and the City of London. ideal for walking, the underground or river - everything is so easy.
