London Romford West hotel

On arrival, I was proudly informed there was no A/C, despite soaring temperatures outside. There was no lift. There was no help with lugging my suitcase upstairs because the receptionist (half my age) had a bad back, and was told it's not a long way to my room to discover it was the furthest from reception. The black out curtain was broken, so the sun poured in in the morning when I was expecting a lie in. The bathroom was not up to scratch. There was no quilt or blanket on the bed, just a sheet, so I had to find someone to ask in the middle of the night when I returned from my visit. There was a ghastly purple glow around the bed. The window was filthy. The hairdryer was pathetic, so I'm glad I had my own with me. There were no charging points for phone etc, so it was useful I took a multiway adapter of my own. Everything about the stay was awful, and would never recommend anyone to stay there at the extortionate rate providing no service whatsoever. Wholly unimpressed and disappointed.

Location was excellent for our needs. The first room which was on ground level was dark because the blackout blinds were closed and one of the bedside lights didn’t work, which I reported. In opening the blinds we were on top of a very busy road and close to the footpath. Wasn’t happy as I either had to stay in a dark room or lack privacy. The room was tired but clean. Bed comfy and bathroom small. There was a small fan that was left on for comfort. Asked to be moved and because we had a lot of baggage we stayed on the ground floor but on the opposite side overlooking the car park. At least I could open the blinds. Breakfast was nothing exceptional but it was adequate. Next door to a Toby cavern which we used once. I would suggest anyone booking ask for the upper floor if able as this will give you much more privacy. The hotel from our prospective is tired and in need of a refurb but it is what it is.

Amazing service from Patricia and Eve (Chef)!! The hot buffet was just right and had all the signature breakfast essentials after a long day!!

I always chose this Premier Inn over the other local ones. Free parking, but more so the staff. Friendly and always happy to welcome you. Special mention to Patricia and Evelina who remember you, as I am sure there are a lot of guests every day? I will glady use this hotel and breakfast area again soon.
