"Needs more staff"
We often stay in premier inns but this was definitely the worst,on arrival the automated check in screens were out of service which left one staff member to sort out a growing number of guests, then when we finally got to our room the bathroom was disgusting,it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and the room was small a dinghy even for a standard. On reporting the issue the receptionist moved us immediately and even gave us an upgrade which was a vast improvement. Was to surprised to see we didnt need our key card to access the elevator either which is unusual so security could be better considering there is no safe in the room. On the plus side though the breakfast was very good and even though the restaurant was quite small it didnt seem crowded, but all things being equal I would probably avoid this premier inn.
"Ok"
We've stayed at this Hotel about 5 times now over the years ,always stayed in a plus room, until this latest visit no complaints at all,but unfortunately we can see this hotel is going downhill slowly. Peeling wood on the walls,a leaky coffee machine,no staff about,I had to search all over gor a member of staff to reset our door key,twice!.. other people were also left waiting to check in!. The tv remote wasn't working properly to. Definitely needs a refit & a lick of paint!! Sort it out ,for the prices you charge its needs to be better!!!!
"Not the Premier inn standard I was expecting"
The only good thing about this hotel is the location and this is what you pay for! Everything else is below the Premier inn standard I know. This is meant to be a premier inn plus but I've stayed in a 'normal' one which was better. The Holborn hotel room we had looked tired and felt grubby. The laminate was peeling off the desk, the sheets were dirty and room surfaces dusty. There were marks all over the walls. There is no telephone (not an issue for us) and no safe. There was an old sweet wrapper just under the bed. Our hairdryer sounded like a bag of bolts that then started to smoke. Reception were quick to replace it with a new one so can't fault their helpfulness. The cooked breakfast on the first morning was poor. The hot items were very slow to be replenshished. The pancake from the continental buffet was stone cold like it had been in the freezer. The second morning most 'hot' items were on the cooked breakfast counter but apart from the sausages, everything else a was luke warm. The bed was comfortable but had to turn off the air con as the refrigerant could be heard bubbling around keeping us awake. I wouldn't stay here again as it's a pity because the location is great.
"Nice hotel but rubbish restaurant evening meal"
Stayed for 2 nights in a family room on 2nd floor. Room itself was fine, clean, comfortable and a decent amount of space for a single parent travelling with 2 children. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. DO NOT bother with the restaurant for food in the evening. Food was mediocre at best, overpriced frozen food and oven chips! Other than that, can’t fault the hotel, great location.
"Standard Premier Inn Fare"
It's a Premier Inn, so you know what you are going to get. To be fair it delivered on those aspects, it was reasonably priced, it was in a good location and the room and beds were comfy. A down side - the room smelled badly of smoke - but we did the British thing and did not complain!
