London Farringdon (Smithfield) hotel

The hotel is located close to St Pauls Cathedral, immediately out side of the hotel entrance there is a Bus terminus where you can take a but into the centre of London. The nearest tube station by foot is situated on the northside of St Pauls Cathedral. (Hotel) Reception is bright and airy with the restaurant on the flow below. You access the upper floors by either of the two lifts which have both a front and rear door to them to access the split floor arrangement of the building. We stayed in the Premier Inn Plus rooms, where as my daughter’s room has a partial view to the outside. My room unfortunately only had a view of the elevator doors across from us which left us feeling locked in and a bit suffocating. The room it’s self was clean and all facilities worked including the aircon.

Farrington Premier Inn is a great central hotel, you can walk to Oxford st or West End within 25 mins. Tube about 8 mins. Nice area. Felt safe. Hotel staff very friendly and attentive. Great breakfast, room and very comfy bed. Overall great stay.

We stayed for one night at the hotel as we had a hospital appointment nearby. When we arrived, we were greeted by a man who simply pointed to the check-in booths, which were not working properly. When we asked him to check us in, he barely spoke to us and gave one-word answers to my questions. The hotel itself was fine. It was quite big, and the rooms were pretty standard for a Premier Inn. On check-out, we went to hand our key card to the lady behind the desk, and she just pointed at the box for cards. Overall, the staff was just not very welcoming. I'd also say that putting out colouring pages and sweets for children and then asking for a five-star review is off-putting. Considering I work in customer service, if you're asking for five stars, you aren't getting valid feedback from your customers. The car park close to the hotel is £60 for 24 hours. Although this is not the hotel's fault and doesn't influence my score, I think it's worth noting for people coming so they realize how expensive it is. The hotel is also in the congestion zone, so you have to pay that as well. On a positive note, it does have really good Tube links nearby

No one on reception on arrival. Room not cleaned for 3 days. Bed linen dirty. Breakfast unappertising - hot food was lukewarm; eggs rubbery; bacon dry; patries squashed and broken; fruit juice awful. Unsupervised children running around. Tables left uncleared. No bananas! On a positive note: TV, kettle, shower, lights and air conditioning all working.

Very convenient and efficient system. The staff were impressively kind and friendly. The room was also quiet and clean. It was my first time trying out the "Premier Inn" chain, and I had a great first impression from this stay.
