"Would recommend !"
Reasonably priced , food good on meal deal , close to transport , rooms clean with comfy beds, friendly staff. Bit of a walk if your elderly or have mobility issues from the DLR
"Hotel in desperate need of more staff!"
Stayed here for For the Love of Fantasy Con. (Ex Premier Inn reception employee) Check in was fine. Very short staffed, nobody on bar. I'd sent an email to book a table at 7pm on the Friday evening no reply or booking when asked at restaurant. So went to the pub behind the hotel for food. Saturday evening I went down to the restaurant to ask to order some food that I could take to my room to be met with a gentleman with a moustache abruptly telling me "NO!" To which I replied I've never been refused this before in other PI's He replied once again abruptly "were busy!" I replied "I don't want room service!" I then asked w hat is the difference between me waiting for food here (bar area) or seated in the restaurant? He looked at me blankly. ??? So my next question was "can I be seated then? Once again an abrupt "NO, WERE BUSY!" there was three tables empty, they were not that busy. Ot was the lack of staff that made them busy. I only wanted to order a side of chilli chips and garlic bread £12. Takes 10- 15mins max. I rolled my eyes shook my head and responded "No wonder this hotel has a bad rep with staff who have an attitude like yours!" I ended up getting Just Eat and wasted half as I'm not a big eater. Room- newly refurbished look with purole light. Room as expected clean, working aircon thankfully! I run hot so I also brought 3 fans with me. Window did open a little. Bathroom was clean just disappointed I had no bath and sink smelled of the drain, eggy smell when you washed your hands. Lifts were working. No problem there. Checked out on Sunday was easy, handed key card over and left.
"Great stay"
Great overnight stay, staff in dining area were helpful and attentive. Gentleman on reception we friendly and welcoming
"Staff made our stay!"
Booked family room & one single for 2 night stay to attend Convention at Excel. Staff were friendly & helpful despite being rushed off their feet with Convention & Trialathon guests booking in & having breakfast same time. Thierry (the Italian *wink* on reception!! ) was exceptionally helpful and his sense of humour made us feel welcomed & relaxed and we appreciated his support around car parking. Breakfast was well stocked and fresh and staff always helpful. Free parking an added bonus at this hotel. Didn't have a meal or drink here as took quick trip by cable car to 02 to eat which is only 15mins walk away. Positive - staff, breakfast, free parking, air con, large rooms. Single room looked refurbished & modern & bed comfy. Negative - family room needs a refurb and beds were worst ever slept on at a Premier Inn and caused us all back pain. Mattress dented & sucken, needs replacing on double bed. Third bed springs poked through. Never experienced poor sleep from beds in a Premier before. Overall, just because the staff are so friendly and rooms very quiet, we would have happily stayed extra night but sadly it was fully booked so had to move to another hotel instead.
"Decent rooms but under staffed which seems like a common occurrence at Premier Inns"
Hotel is clean and staff are friendly but like every Premier Inn I visit at the minute it is massively understaffed, bloke running between checking people and serving at the bar, couldn't get a table in the restaurant until 7.45 as they were "full", came down early by chance and it was dead. Female member of staff was helpful but as with barman/ receptionist, run off her feet. If you just want a room for the night its fine, rooms are nice and cool, if you want a drink or evening meal I'd book somewhere else...
