"Understaffed"
We are in day two of a 4 day stay. Premier Inn staff are always helpful, and we stay regularly in their different hotels, largely because they are very good with the needs of disabled people. Recently we stayed at Brentwood too. At both hotels we noticed a terrible understaffing, but Canning Town was awful. Last night there were two people on to look after the front desk, run the bar and serve in the restaurant, and it worked as the hotel wasn't busy. Tonight the hotel is very busy, I only saw one employy in the bar, nobody on the front desk and a women standing waiting for someone to take her to a table. She said she had been waiting for ages. I went up to the bar and asked the one employee about dinner, another hotel resident said she had been told that she would have to wait over an hour because they were short staffed. There were lots of empty tables. Also, this morning there was only one man on, with another in the kitchen area. He was running around, meeting and greeting, collecting plates and generally doing everything that two people did the day before. Despite that he was very friendly, and wished us a nice day. As I say, you cannot fault the staff. Instead of waiting over an hour, we nipped across the road for a McDonald's, and came back to our room to find the TV would not work. It needs to connected to the Internet apparently. Usually I would go down and ask for help but as there are so few staff on, what is the point? Premier Inn really need to improve their staffing levels, but Canning Town is by far the worst we have encountered in the last year. We have two more nights here, hopefully it will be less busy so we can get a meal tomorrow!
"Very helpful staff. Taylor stood out"
Everything was great except breakfast the bacon and sausage where awfull, the location was very convenient to all transport links .
"Needs improvement but will definitely stay here again"
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food was really nice and fresh but the restaurant/bar area and the hallways were messy with crumbs and litter on the floor. The room was decent and comfortable with a good view but the AC function had been locked so we couldn’t change the temperature which made sleep that night really uncomfortable even if we did only stay for the night. We will stay here if we visit London again as even though it’s pretty much in the middle of London the price was decent
"Family stay in adjoining rooms"
Short staffed but they pulled out every stop they could. Very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this for a stay.
"Breakfast experience"
The receptionists on both days were good, polite and helpful. The cook refused to bring out any scotch egg or any other refill as she was busy working around the restaurant. This was around 7:30 on Sunday morning. The cleaners could concentrate on dusting the rooms as the beds were dusty. There could be a variety of available breakfast options.
