"Good location"
The reception team were very welcoming and friendly and made the check in process really easy for me. The hotel is in a good location for the amenities in town, all of the transport links are really good, the East Croydon station (Thameslink line), the trams and the buses seemed very regular. Both the tram and train go straight to Brighton about a 53 minute journey and apparently only £7.
"Brilliant staff always there to help with a smile even if some customers are difficult!"
Always good to stay at this hotel the staff are lovely and go out of their way to assist should there be any problems. The only slight niggle is with corporate meal deal bookings, the system is always a problem and takes ages to sort out everytime I stay. Teresa the hostess at breakfast is great, really helpful and I hope you feel better soon Teresa!!
"Not the best Premier inn to stay in by a country mile"
After being transferred to this hotel at short notice having found out by chance the Premier inn south Croydon was being refurbished with no restaurant or bar available ( booked in January 2024) I contacted guest relations and after two very frustrating phone calls was told it would be better to stay at the Croydon town centre hotel where all facilities were available. This visit was the night before my daughter’s wedding and we were in a party of ten so quite an important booking. Firstly it was completely understaffed with just two people running the restaurant/bar in between checking guests in as there was a glitch in the self check in facility. When I came to order my dinner as part of the extremely good priced meal deal I was told there was no gluten free meal menu nor a gluten free beer available. At every premier inn I have previously stayed at they have all had this very important meal option available for me. I have previously wrote a review on the premier inn Maidenhead central probably being the best premier inn I have stayed in whilst without doubt this is by far the worst. Two of the floors I visited were badly in need of a good hovering which unfortunately did not give a good first impression of this hotel. Hopefully someone from the premier chain will read this very negative review and take some sort of action to improve this hotel. David Smith
"Comfy bed, but 10.5 quilts too hot in summer"
A comfortable bedroom and clean bathroom, but Premier Inn always seems to let me down by having only 10.5 quilts which, especially in the summer makes it impossible to get a good night's sleep.
"Spacious Room but Service Needs Improvement"
I stayed here at the end of August. The positives are clear: the room itself was lovely, very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice shower. However, there were several issthat made the stay less enjoyable. The hotel was very busy, and this was obvious in the service. My keycard stopped working daily (sometimes twice), and each time I had to wait at reception - on a few occasions for up to 10 minutes - before anyone came to assist. There was also one lift available for a full hotel, which led to constant delays. On my last day, I requested room service because my bins ere full and toiletries had run out (including toilet paper), but was told my room had been "accidentally" missed and could only be cleaned the following day - which was unhelpful as I was checking out. I ended up having to buy my own basics which is not what you expect at this standard of hotel. Overall, while the room itself was very good, the lack of consistent service and long waits left me disappointed. Will not be staying here again!
