London Croydon Town Centre hotel

For the money, I cannot fault this hotel. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. The English breakfast was fine, although some of the food (like the bacon) was cold. The hotel is situated near East Croydon, a thriving area with bars and cafes nearby, and a Coop supermarket which is literally next door. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone on a limited budget.

I recently stayed at Premier Inn Croydon and, before arriving, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. I had read a number of negative reviews online, and on arrival I noticed a couple of homeless people around the corner and near the Co-op next door, which initially made the area feel a little less welcoming. The lobby and main entrance were also fairly plain and could perhaps do with a refresh. However, my first impressions quickly changed. The self-service check-in process was straightforward and efficient, with a friendly member of staff available to help if needed. The biggest surprise was the room itself. I was fortunate to be given one of the newer, refurbished rooms, and it exceeded my expectations. The room was spotlessly clean, the layout was modern and well designed, and I particularly appreciated having a contemporary walk-in shower instead of the older bathtub style shown in some of the photos online. Everything felt fresh, comfortable, and well maintained. For the price I paid, I genuinely felt I received excellent value for money. The room absolutely lived up to Premier Inn's reputation for providing a clean and comfortable stay, and I slept very well. The location is another major advantage. It's only a two-minute walk from East Croydon Station, making it incredibly convenient for transport into central London and Gatwick Airport. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, and having a Co-op supermarket right next door was very useful. My only real criticism was the television. It was unusually slow to respond, often taking around 20 seconds to change channels or adjust the volume. This was a little frustrating, especially as the TV offered a great selection of channels. Overall, I believe Premier Inn Croydon is making a real effort to improve the guest experience. Despite my initial concerns, I left very impressed and would happily stay here again. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, modern, and conveniently located hotel offering excellent value for money.

Good location, helpful staff at check inn, room clean etc. but, the air-con didn’t work in our room! It was a very hot day and hotel was fully booked so couldn’t change room! Only way we could change temperature of the room was going to reception and asking them to change temperature which didn’t happen quickly enough. When returning to our room after a night out the room was very hot and after requesting with staff to set the temperature at a nice temperature of 18 degrees it took what felt like a decade for it to kick in! Don’t actually remember the temperature changing, just waking up early morning sweating like crazy. Very dissatisfied.

Nice quiet room which I requested by phone. Very comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect during the exceptionally hot stint. Staff helpful and pleasant particularly the young lady working hard at the front of the restaurant, very kindly assisted us with our dietary requirements and all with a lovely smile which was delightful. The chap at Reception was very patient with me too as I struggled away with the check-in technology. We've stayed a few times before and it's always been a pleasant stay and we will be happy to stay again.

Excellent location, great value for price, very good standards e.g. bed, shower, TV, cleanliness, decor, quality of food (really well cooked and presented) etc. The service and engagement were excellent. Stefano at the front desk was friendly, smiling, engaging and did a professional check in. When I passed by later, he asked me how I was doing. Equally, Joseph in the restaurant was welcoming, gave information on the menu options and again was friendly and welcoming. He also checked with me whilst so was eating as to how the starter and main course were. Often standards are great but mediocre service can affect the experience; not on this occasion, thank you Stefano and Joseph
