"Shocking treatment of staff...like lambs to the slaughter! Shame on you Premier Inn Head Office...disgusting treatment"
So I am a regular person to use the Croydon Central Premier Inn as I visit my son every few weeks who lives near. Over the last year I have met the wonderful staff. Teresa and Sparsha in particular.. They bend over backwards for you. Kind and very hardworking. Today 25th October on my 3rd day I was absolutely disgusted with what I saw. There was 2 staff members on for the whole hotel. The lifts had broken down. The cleaners did not come in and the receptionist a young man had to clean 20 rooms for the long queue of guests arriving. The poor young girl who worked in the restaurant (Jill ) and bar had to deal with everything herself. She was verbally abused by one particular guest who followed her throughout the restaurant shouting abuse at her. She (Jill) kept her cool and carried on trying to Accommodate many families with young children who didn't have a room to check into. I as a paying guest spoke to guests on my own merrit to try and calm them down before they complained and attacked the staff as they did not deserve the abuse. I let people use my room key to use the toilet, i spoke to family members to explain the situation as the staff (2) were run ragged and were not available to explain what was going on maybe i shoukd not have intervened but i could not sit back and watch. I would have worked the bar and cleaned some rooms to help them it was awful. Then a large group of teenagers turned up with no rooms ready. The staff as usual were amazing. I am an ex hotel Housekeeper offered to help but was told that I couldn't which I totally understand and i was thanked. All I have to.say is shame on you managers! Area managers! not one of you came to help. They were still trying to get rooms for people who were literally lying on the floor all over reception and the restaurant at 11pm...Disgusting!!! you should all be sacked and Jill and Joseph should be given a bloody medal and a pay rise!! I stay in that hotel regularly because the staff, Teresa, Sparshia, Joseph and Jill are amazing. They are wasted there. Again shame on you Head Office!!! I hope you call me to speak with me in person! I will not let this go!
"Friendly and helpful staff."
Rooms comfortable. Meal deals excellent value. Beside Rast Croydon train station. Our daughter has an 8 mth old baby. We were looked after by Teresa who couldn’t have done more for us.
"Family stay in premier inn Croydon"
Excellent customer service. A lot of the staff are familiar faces, from our previous visits, which is always a good sign (low staff turnover). Usual premier room, clean & functional. Great location by East Croydon station, which has connections into central london & local areas, including the tram network. Parking by rushing square car parks, which is discounted via premier inn. Another great stay!
"A pleasant stay"
We recommend the Premier Inn (London Croydon Town Centre Hotel). You receive value for money. Examples: - The hotel manager Mihaela is very helpful (advice & assistance). - The unlimited English breakfast buffet (!) is great thanks to Teresa and other great colleagues. Location: - Not in the center of London, However, the public transport is closeby. A supermarket is also closeby. Rooms: - Spacious rooms. Noise level: - It's not in the city centre, so no events will keep you awake. Atmosphere: - Positive
"Ideal hotel for an easy walk from the railway station and the Fairfield hall."
Excellent and friendly staff, especially Maybel who was running the restaurant and bar on her own. A pleasant restaurant which could have done with a slightly larger and more cosy and comfortable lounge area. Sadly aspects of the room let this premier inn down compared to others I have stayed in.
