"Broken lifts and smelly towels"
We booked this hotel over a year ago- as wanted specific dates. An email 2 weeks ago warned us that the lifts were currently 'unavailable' and it might take us 'a little longer to get to our room'. At (self ) check-in we were allocated a room on the 5th floor. Both lifts had been burnt out in fire on 6th floor last month. There were problems from the word go with key cards not working - meaning more treks up and down stairs. Only towels for one person in our room , so I approached cleaner on the 5th floor and got some more the next day. Unfortunately, all the towels we were given did not smell clean/fresh. One of them stank of feet! When I asked the cleaner about cleaning our room (we were there for 3 nights ) she just said, 'No'! The majority of the reception/ bar/ restaurant staff are v nice and helpful- despite having to work in multiple areas and having to deal with a lot of seriously unhappy guests. I wonder what it will take for management to sit up and take notice. (This is the second time I have attempted to post a review of this hotel in the last week. The first one was through the Premier Inn website- and it never appeared- wonder why?!)
"Broken, dirty and old"
This is the Premiere Inn the company forgot they own. It's grim. I normally find premiere inns a safe bet, but this one is awful. Staff are so unfriendly and the place is filthy and old, the stairs (of which I am now very familiar with) are disgusting. The lifts are broken and this is not a temporary thing. I was told they are not going to be fixed. Being in the third floor is not fun especially when the key card fail to work (4 times). Each time I use ot once I have to have it re-programmed. But apparently - it's my fault as I own a mobile phone 🙄
"I can't remember a more disorganised check in,"
No check in allowed b4 3pm, as there was a gig everyone turned up at 3pm. 2x Check in machines, only 1/2 of the people trying to use them had any success. After check in i wanted my bag from storage but was told to join the cue of people that needed to check in due to machines not working. Asked if someone could just get my bag, answer was no join the cue. Myself and the 2 groups in front of me queued for 40 mins and then when we got to the front the lady checking people in simply knocked on the office door and asked her college to take our tickets and get our luggage..... the whole time there was someone sitting in the office! We all just looked at each other in disbelief. She could of handled peoples luggage or used the other check in desk! Then i remembered the lady on the desk saying something about her college doesn't like doing check in's but didn't pay any attention at the time. Check in policy of 3pm and machines not working can happen but to hold everyone up for 40 mins due to incompetence is ridiculous. At no point did anyone else show up to supervise or assists. Ohh and non of the lifts worked or looked like they had for a while.
"Ok for a couple of night"
Stayed here for 2 nights for an event we were attending in Crystal Palace. Positive were: 1. Staff were all really nice and helpful and very efficient 2. Check-in was really easy and quick and the lady checking us in was lovely and really funny. 3. The room was usual Premier Inn quality, which was good. 4. The aircon was great, especially as we were staying on one of the hottest days of the year. Not so great: 1. Both of the lifts were broken and we were staying on the 4th floor. It was not nice going up so many stairs on a hot day 2. The bar/restaurant never seemed to be open. We arrived around 10pm and the bar was already closed on a Saturday evening which felt early. Came down around 12ish the next day to get some lunch and a beer before heading to our event and it was still closed. 3. The corridors and stairwells were very dirty Overall it was an ok stay for a few nights, but not sure I would stay again.
"Hotel needs to raise their game"
Lifts not working, glad I wasn’t on 6th floor Check in machines not working Dinner had to wait 1 hour for a dinner slot. Then a 1 hour wait on starter, then main course arrived 1 minute later! Coke on tap is mixed wrong, asked for bottled instead, which took 15 mins to arrive, just a bottled coke ! Prawn and cocktail when it arrived was terrible BBQ double burger was very good đŸ‘đŸ» Room was good as ever.đŸ‘đŸ»
