"Overall moderately satisfied and Teresa deserves a promotion"
Here for stay of 4 days. So far we have requested the room be cleaned once. All that was done was clean towel left and bin emptied. Bathroom has not been cleaned since we arrived. Lifts are consistently out of order and given we are in an accessible room this has not been good for my disabled mother having to climb stairs. Breakfast, the only waitress you appear to have, Teresa, does a fantastic job which is possibly the job of 3 people. She is great with the customers, friendly and welcoming manner and is an asset to your restaurant.
"Terrible cleaning standards, otherwise ok"
I stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and also this year in May and also in July. On both occasions I was allocated a refurbished room. The refurbished rooms are a huge improvement on the previous design. Furthermore the previous rooms were in dire need of cleaning and maintenance. On my visit a few years ago the hotel was disgusting . On my visit in May 2025 there was nothing to complain about. Plenty of staff, clean room, breakfast well stocked and working lifts. On my visit in July the hotel had one working lift and breakfast was decimated which resulted in lengthy waits. The public toilets in reception looked like they're from Trainspotting and looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the 90's. The area manager was helping out at breakfast. The room had food from the previous guest on the wind cill. The previous guest had left some pot noodle in the kettle. There were multiple hairs in the bathroom. Thankfully the bedding and towels were clean. There was paint on the table from the decorating. Picture hooks were protruding from the walls so I removed the screws - don't want to walk into them in the dimly lit room
"Relaxing and Peaceful - Staff are a delight!"
Sparsha is the loveliest customer service assistant. I had , had the worst day upon check-in and she brightened it. She had the nicest energy, and was super accommodating. She was extremely patient, understanding and kind. Such a blessing to premier-inn’s staffing. Didn’t have the longest of stays but everytime I saw her she was a delight. She was a huge part of making my stay super enjoyable!!
"Terrible experience and no response to 2 complaints."
We stayed on 31st May. We were in Croydon for my nephew's wedding and booked early check in so that we could all meet up, have some refreshments together and get ready in plenty of time. The self service check ins were broken and the staff member on reception had no idea what she was doing. It took her about half an hour to check in each guest, I kid you not. I was one of the first to get in my room, at 12.40 (we should have been in by 11.00). Two of my grandchildren had to ready in my room. I grabbed some extra towels and tea bags (none supplied in my "Premier Plus" room) from a trolley in the corridor. The towels smelt bad so we shared the least smelly one. I tried to iron a dress, but the iron was broken. At least we had toilet roll - other family members did not. My son in law who was the wedding photographer had to get changed in the corridor. I complained and was taken to one side and told I could have a free breakfast but not to tell anyone else! I emailed a complaint to Premier Inn detailing the above and got an automated email back saying there would be a delayed response. I followed up a month later and still have had no response. I have had good stays in Premier Inns in the past, but be warned, if it is not good you will get no redress. I will never book with them again.
"In rapid decline"
We stay here regularly and have done so over the last three years. Unfortunately, over the past couple of months, this hotel has rapidly deteriorated in terms of service and standards. Housekeeping seriously let this place down. It's almost as if they aren't even there. When we last stayed, none of the surfaces/tables were wiped down and had grease from previous guests' food on them, the bathroom was full of mould which indicates long term zero cleaning. We moved our sofa slightly and there was an old tissue, random bit of paper and food crumbs which tells us the room was skimmed over at the very minimum. It is shocking that housekeeping staff are unable to even give the rooms a basic clean. This hotel was refurbished just 7-8 months ago but you'd not know it with how unkempt the place has become. I genuinely feel sorry for the remaining colleagues who have to put up with complaints constantly because other departments and their management let them down so frequently. If there's a Hotel Manager at this hotel, they need to be pushed out and quickly!
