"pleasant stay"
re Premier Inn Croydon West/ Purley
Great service from staff as usual - warm welcome at Reception (RAM and ANGIE this time), helpful courteous housekeeping also.
Please however - leave duvets on beds even in hot weather. Instead guests should be provided with the option to swap duvets with sheet if they wish.
Stop removing things that matter e.g. drinking glasses, sofa to sit on.
£15 early check-in price is excessive.

"Updated because Premier Inn doesn't care - If it's hot, don't go to this hotel. You WILL regret it."
Original review below but adding this as the customer service has been SHOCKING. In the end I did ask for a refund given the stay we had but I was refused, my concerns were not taken seriously at all, and from what I can see in the reviews I'm far from the only one to have had such a poor experience.
To be clear about the level of heat and lack of ventilation (not just AC but terrible airflow) we were told by staff that some of the cleaners working over the weekend we stayed had taken time off sick due to the heat experienced while cleaning the rooms. This hotel is literally harming its staff and yet does nothing to improve the ventilation or cooling, (opening external doors for periods to refresh and cool the air, bringing in more fans, supplying ice or enough cold water to actually help guests maintain a reasonable temperature) and keeps repeating the same rubbish about "we told you it didn't have air conditioning." What they didn't do when THEIR OWN STAFF WERE GOING OFF SICK DUE TO THE HEAT was warn any of the guests, take any reasonable measures beyond supplying one poorly located, unmovable fan, offer an alternative site, or do much of anything at all. I had to repeatedly tell them that this was about more than the air conditioning but the attitude was the same over and over. Sorry you feel that way, we told you there's no air conditioning.
This hotel is providing a dangerous working environment to its own staff and yet considered that was a FINE environment for paying guests to stay in. Their attitude to their staff and customers absolutely stinks. Yes, we reported it. Yes we asked for more fans (there were none - they prioritised rooms with children which is fair enough but they clearly were aware of the severity of the problem). We asked for ice and were given very little, and were told they needed to save it for breakfast. They failed to reference this degree of problem in their responses to my complaint, failed to escalate it when I told them to, and when they eventually did they still failed to address the severity of the problem, repeated the "no AC, sorry you feel that way" mantra, and closed the case. As I'm an employer and also involved in the building trade I do know what I'm talking about but they seem to think I'll just go away when they're behaving incredibly irresponsibly, robbing people off, and keeping their money.
We couldn't stay elsewhere. We tried, but as they had our money already I couldn't afford to go to a different hotel and was hardly going to drive all the way back to Cornwall from Croydon at 2am. At such short notice the prices were sky high, and rooms were few and far between.
As I have already told them I WILL be taking this to trading standards and I sincerely hope the staff who were taken ill take legal action against them. Premier Inn has a duty of care to staff and guests and they are utterly failing in that duty. Given the number of other basically identical complaints it's obvious they don't care, are hiding behind the "we don't have air conditioning" line in the ad, and for a company offering a guarantee of a good night with them that's extremely poor.
*Original review below*
It's a shame to have to leave such a poor review because the staff were great and overall it should have been a decent place to stay. The problem with heat goes WAY beyond them not having air conditioning, you're told that on the booking pages, but the much larger problem was that the place is very badly ventilated, trapping heat that kept the interior of the building much hotter than it was outside. 31 degrees in the bedroom at 2am in the morning is ludicrous, and the bathroom was so much hotter that I couldn't stay in there for long without feeling unwell. And I'm good with heat - I'd take a day in Singapore with no sunscreen over another night at this Premier Inn.
A single fan, screwed to the wall at the opposite side of the room from the head of the bed, is not close to enough to sort the issue, and what little relief it gave was completely undone the moment we opened the bathroom or corridor doors.
In the end I unscrewed it and moved it to the bedside table (without damaging it - I put it back when we left) and we just about managed to get a few hours sleep on each of the two nights.
The floor above ours was even hotter, and we were told that some of the cleaning staff had taken time off after working in that heat and becoming unwell.
A lack of air conditioning is one thing, but ventilation that poor is inexcusable. If this isn't sorted somebody is going to get very sick on a hot day, while the general lack of airflow is also going to lead to problems with damp, mould, and everything that comes with it.
Unless the weather is reliably cool, stay somewhere else.

"Disappointed"
I arrived quite late and was very very tired.
As I opened the bedroom door, I thought someone was already using the room. The bed looked as though someone had been lying on the bed and there was no Premier Inn signature sash on the bed.
I was so looking forward to having a shower, however when I turned on the shower, water began cascading from the top of the shower head on to the floor. I had to quickly turn off the shower and have a bath instead...so disappointing!
Too tired to go back down to reception.
When I went to check out in the morning, there was noone on reception, so, could not explain the issues. I waited for a while then just dropped my keys in box and lleft.
I usually love Premier for for a quick overnight stay but not this time.
Please Premier Inn Croydon, Please check your rooms before letting guests stay!

"Never go to a Premier inn again"
The deco was very poor and run-down. Nil score for atmosphere it had none. Rooms were poor and needed redecorating and were not clean. The stairways were filthy. There was no air conditioning - only a fan that pumped hot air around the room. Not good if like me, I had heart problems.
Breakfast was good, and the cook was excellent. Their attention to allergies seemed good, but I had a gluten reaction, probably from cross-contamination with toasted bread. The next breakfast I excluded bread and was fine.

"Collenades Premier Inn stay"
This is our second stay , our room was very clean , the service we received from Ram and Shalini was fantastic during our 3 night stay . There was nothing they wouldn’t do for us . Ram brought up Ice to our room for my mum who needed some for her foot as she has a broken toe . We needed to store our luggage when we arrived and also when we were leaving for a while and they both obliged with absolute no hesitation. The breakfast was delicious. My mom and I look forward to returning again . The only complaint that we have is that even though we had the fan going in the room it was very hot as there is no Air con .
