London County Hall hotel

Excellent location right next to London Eye, and handy for hop on hop off bus stop. Lots of restaurants close by. Perfect base for our short stay. Friendly service and clean rooms. Can't ask for much more. I do find that Premier Inn is always consistent with their hotels and it works for us!

we are big fans of premier inn and have stayed at this location many times, the room was as expected with air conditioning although you could NOT put it below 19 deg. The biggest problem was the boy racers every night for several hours, we stopped opening the window and still heard them - not the fault of the hotel but why on earth are the police not sorting this out? All hotels in the area will be affected and location of room will not make a difference - if you want a quiet night go elsewhere

This hotel deserves a 5 star, it is clean, the room is spacious, the staff are fantastic, especially Fay at breakfast... (I would have given a 5 star just for her)... Location wise, you could not get any closer to the London eye, and Big Ben and Westminster is a five to ten minute walk up the road, for an abled bodied person. It is a beautiful listed building, and because of this they are limited for things they can do, so it can be noisy in some rooms... However... As my title suggests, this is not the hotel for me and it is such a shame. My lack of giving it five star was more of a personal reason. I don't go to many places, because I am a crippled semi hermit, and when I do manage it, I get very anxious... so I have one vice (I smoke), so do not judge me until you have walked a mile in my shoes (which would be impossible, because my shoes could not walk a mile), something happened to me 30 years ago, when I was 40 which was bad, I will not bore you with the story, but it left me physically and mentally disabled. But, when I do go anywhere I like to be as independent as I can... I always have an extra day beforehand to get used to my new environment, and then just hope that I manage the rest of it. On getting to the entrance of the hotel where the taxi drops you off, you are met with a flight of 15-20 steps to get into the building... There is a button available to request assistance. A member of staff comes out to assist, carries your case up, then the wheelchair, and then leaves you to follow up the stairs, which took me a good ten minutes to meet up in the reception area. The same guy who booked me in saw how much I struggled, and found me a room as close to the lift as he could. Once I got settled in, I needed a ciggie, so went from my 5th floor down to the ground floor in the lift, then through the double doors across the room to the very busy receptionist. Once it was my turn, I asked where one could smoke, she said "I will take you down the lift to the basement and show you, so that you remember for next time." We went back through the double doors to the lift, she had to use a special key to get to the basement floor, we then had to walk through a storage room full of containers, then out into a courtyard.... Through the long courtyard, onto a private road which had a steep hill up towards some barriers, you had to show your card to the guard for him to raise the barrier, and then found you were back on the street where the hotel entrance was on... and when you finished, you had to do the same thing in reverse. The next time I needed a ciggie, I tried to press for the basement, but I was not authorised, so still had to go to the very busy reception to ask and for them to do the lift, which made me feel like I was a pain in the butt and also felt belittled... then had to do that same journey each time. Would I stay again? It is such a shame that the answer would be NO... But for anyone who is able bodied, I could not recommend it enough. And if you do stay there, say "Hi" to Fay for me (Mama Nox).... You will hear her first before you see her, and breakfast would not be the same without her. I am now back home with a body full or more pain that I did not think could ever be possible... Think I will need to sleep for a week or more to get over this one PS... Thank goodness too that it was not raining, as there are no shelters anywhere

Good location for the venue I was attending and had measures in place to help visitors cope with the heat.

My family of four (2 adults and 2 kids, ages 8 and 10) traveled to Europe for the first time and stayed in several hotels across different countries. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing hotel of our trip. The room was very basic. If you're simply looking for a place to sleep, it gets the job done. The beds were comfortable, and we didn't experience much noise. However, our TV randomly turned on twice in the middle of the night, waking us both times. The location was the hotel's biggest strength. It was conveniently located near both Waterloo and Westminster stations, and many of London's major attractions were within walking distance. The room had air conditioning, but there was no mini refrigerator. We also added the breakfast, and I thought it was well worth the price. There was a good variety of hot and cold options, and coffee was included. My biggest complaint was the bathroom. It was extremely small, and the only counter space was directly above the toilet. I found it unpleasant and unhygienic to keep our toothbrushes and contact lens supplies so close to the toilet. The shower was also raised quite high, and the floor became slippery, making it difficult to step out safely. I'm not sure we'd stay here again, but the location really is hard to beat, especially for a family visiting London for the first time.
