London City (Tower Hill) hotel

Great stay overall. The staff were friendly and efficient, check-in was quick, and the room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast with plenty of options, and the location made getting around easy. Minor issue with Wi-Fi at times, but nothing major. Would definitely stay again.

The first room we were given hadn’t even been cleaned. After returning to reception with our luggage, we were kept waiting for over 10 minutes while the receptionists tried to find another room. We were given a new room with some packets of biscuits and a free breakfast the next day as consolation. We did not take the breakfast because we did not want to have to get up early on our first full day. We then found the HDMI connection was not working in the new room after we had unpacked and tried to plug in our fire stick. We went down to reception to report it - we had already paid for premium wi-fi so we could stream the fire tv. The receptionist did not understand fully what the problem was and sent someone up who said they were there to check the air conditioning!?. They had no idea how to fix the HDMI - it was obvious the cable was not connected to the TV as it was hanging down but because of the way the tv was mounted we could not reattach the cable ourselves. We went back to reception who said someone would come up in 2 hours but they never did. After chasing the next morning we asked for someone to fix it, otherwise refund the premium WiFi. When we returned later that day the cable been removed, not reattached so we never did get a connection, nor were we refunded. The only option reception gave us was to move rooms again but we did not want to repack everything to move. Also, the shower was dreadful. The rain shower had obviously not been cleaned as it just came out as a weak trickle. The other showerhead was loose and would not stay in place so we ended up having to hold it every time we showered. We were so sick of the service that we just put up with it for the 3 days we were there. We always book this hotel when we go to London and the service and room facilities have always been good but this time it was poor and ruined our mood for the whole stay. In future we will prefer to stay at a different premier inn when we come to London.

Great convenient location. Adequately spaced clean room. Value for money. Overall this is great accomodation in central London if you on a budget.

Location, is good for Tower Hill tube station and of course the Tower of London. The walk from the station is around 7 minutes, and a typical area walk can feel a bit secluded after 8pm. Staff are super friendly and a lot more helpful than some more more expensive properties I've stayed in recently. Food was ok and service was quick and to be expected. Rooms were clean and tidy although the ensuite bathroom was a little tired with decoration, room did feel a bit boxy with the window to one side. Noise level was good, I didn't hear a lot of people coming and going. Overall a decent property and would use again.

We stayed in a Premier Plus room, which was spacious and beautifully presented, with a lovely bathroom, blackout blinds, and really nice lighting. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. Sadly, things fell short after that. The shower was stuck on the hottest setting and couldn’t be adjusted. The food was extremely poor, and the pillows were uncomfortably hard—especially disappointing given the upgraded room. Breakfast was particularly underwhelming. The selection was minimal, tables were left uncleared, the dining area felt cold due to the air conditioning, and for the first time, we didn’t try the cooked options. I had a very poor night’s sleep, which unfortunately affected our day out in London on the day we left. Overall, while there were some positives, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
