"The worst hotel experience ever"
Very unprofessional/rude staff, extremely bad wifi even though you pay for it, poor breakfast choice with rude staff. Good location and area.

"Great place to stay"
Excellent hotel in a very good location close to Aldgate East tube station. Rooms excellent, large and surprisingly quiet. Food in the attached restaurant was excellent.

"Fantastic property with great location!"
I stayed here in a Premier Plus room for a week while attending a conference at the ExCel Centre and this hotel definitely exceeded expectations.
I’ve traveled to London before and know that hotel rooms in that city can be very small and lacking in amenities, but this was not the case at this property. The room was as spacious as any North American hotel room, with a good sized bathroom that included a full tub and shower. The desk had a decent amount of space for work, and there was a small tea and coffee station with kettle and Nespresso coffee maker. Tea bags, sugar and milk are provided and there are caddies in the hallway and lobby for refills (as well as instant coffee). The closet was a bit small and there was only one drawer but I was solo so it was fine for me. The room also included an iron and ironing board, as well as a separate vanity table with lighted mirror and hairdryer.
There are signs of being a budget hotel, such as fixed times for housekeeping (provided only upon request), lack of conditioner and body lotion (note that the shampoo is also a body wash), and lack of tissues. Also, it is not possible to charge breakfast to the room - payment is taken in advance at the restaurant before you are seated at the table. However, the breakfast was quite tasty.
I also loved the location, just around the corner from Aldgate East Tube station. I was able to easily get to ExCel in about 30 minutes by taking the District line one stop to Whitechapel, then taking the Elizabeth Line from there. It is also possible to take the Elizabeth Line between the hotel and Heathrow in about an hour. (For those with luggage, note that there is no escalator at Aldgate East.) Tower Hill is about a 10 minute walk, and the main sites of London are mostly within a half hour Tube or bus ride away. Brick Lane and Spitalfields are a short walk from the hotel.
I paid less than what the other conference hotels were charging - about 1300 pounds for the week. Would certainly return the next time I’m in London.
