"Great base for a Brixton stay"
We stayed here for one night to attend a gig at the Brixton Academy and the location was perfect. A short walk from Brixton station and less than 10 minutes walk from the Academy. Our room was a good size with a decent bathroom that even had a bath! The view from the room of a dilapidated courtyard was uninspiring but the room was surprisingly quiet for such a central location and we didn’t hear a thing from outside or other guests. The air con was also very welcome as it was 30 degrees + in London during our stay.
"Awful treatment by Premier Inn and Questionable Food Hygenie"
Upon arrival, I was informed at check-in that there was an outstanding balance of £16 on my account. I found this extremely surprising and explained to the front desk staff that I had already paid in full at the time of booking. Despite this, I was made to stand at reception for approximately 30 minutes disputing the charge. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was informed that no management was available on-site. Eventually, I was provided with a phone number to escalate the issue. After spending a further 30 minutes on the phone, the charge was ultimately removed. I was told it had been caused by a price increase in premier inn system after my booking had already been paid in full. While I am glad that common sense prevailed, I had now lost a full hour of my stay resolving an issue that was entirely Premier Inn’s fault. This time was meant for rest and enjoyment, not for chasing an administrative error. I requested some form of goodwill gesture or compensation for the inconvenience, distress, and wasted time. However, the representative I spoke to claimed they were unable to offer anything, which I find wholly unacceptable. In addition to this, during dinner at the hotel restaurant, I was surprised to find that the same individual who had served me at reception was now serving food. He was wearing the same clothing he had been working in all day at the front desk, with no apron or other visible hygiene precautions. This gave me serious concerns regarding food hygiene standards. The service overall was poor, and it was evident that the hotel was significantly understaffed and lacking senior oversight. This experience fell well below the standards I expected from Premier Inn.
"Perfect stay"
Hotel was ideally located for our visit to the Brixton Academy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a wide selection of cooked and continental foods. Could not have asked for more.
"Pleasant stay in quiet room, central to Brixton"
Although not much to look at from outside, was usual 'good premier' standard and even though in heart of Brixton, room was nice & quiet, bed comfortable. Only v slight grumble is the towels were not at all soft, they provided a free exfoliation ! Staff v pleasant & helpful. Overall really happy
"Great location. Terrible night"
Staff. Brilliant. Room, Very clean. Bed AMAZING ( I'm actually thinking of ordering a mattress ) My only gripe... I was on the 3rd floor. Furthest room away from the lift.. and I must have been above or below the hotels plant room.. there was a CONSTANT drone all night and day .. also the water hammer of pipework every time someone ran water.. it was so loud at one point that i thought something was about to blow... a real shame as I really could have done with a good night's sleep..
