London Blackfriars (Fleet Street) hotel

I wasn't planning to review this hotel, but when submitting my feedback form to PremierInn, they asked if they could use my comments as a review and then didn't, which I thought rather disingenuous, so here we are: Our room was not ready on check-in (even though this was well after 3pm). Only one member of staff around so long queues in the reception area. Our room was dirty - bin not emptied, crumpled tissue on floor beside bed, and worst of all a vividly bloodstained pillow. We reported this, and to her credit the housekeeping manager was very concerned. When we tried to collect our luggage on the afternoon of checking out (we'd already handed our keys in that morning to head out exploring), no staff around and - again - a long queue at reception desk. A man eventually arrived after 10-15 minutes, but was very blunt with everyone. When we asked for key card to use toilets (as a sign on the wall told us we were welcome to) he grudgingly handed over a card. We had to ask where the toilets were and he vaguely waved a hand to one side of the building and said 'through the doors'. When I eventually found the toilets (through three sets of doors and down a long flight of steps) they were out of order and the door taped over like a crime scene. When handing the key card back to him, my wife thanked him and he ignored her. What a shame - I've always found Premier Inn staff exemplary, and I really hope this isn't the start of a worsening trend because it would certainly put me off using the chain.

The location is excellent: very close to the Blackfiars underground stations. Staff is super kind and helpful (congrat's). The room was large but very minimal: it lacked "storage" space (wardrobe, drawers, ...) which would have helped a 4-person family during a 6-day stay. A small safe in the room would also be very usefuf. The bathroom was also very large and minimal: being in four, we would have appreciated a few extra towels. The cost is very competitive and it is absolutely fair, given the service/location.

What can I say,all you need from a premier inn, except i dont think I've been to a hotel where EVERY member of staff was friendly, polite,helpful,professional, and myself and my Mrs would like to say premier inn you have the nicest,friendliest person ive ever met working for you a BIG thank you to ALESSANDRO,will stay here again next time in london,keith and louise

Stayed here 3 times before - location great for us visited theatre ,Borough Markets ,Covent Garden and Theatres . Always clean staff pleasant room ready little early too which allowed easy drop off of cases - appreciated not having been charged for early access also - feel in previous Premier inn the fee is extortionate Will come back again

Clean, comfortable room. Hotel was quiet during the night, despite all-night world cup football happening. Staff were all cheerful, efficient and hospitable. Also, hotel is in an excellent location,handy for riverside walks, parliament, Tate Britain and many excellent nearby pubs and restaurants.
