London Angel Islington hotel

Our first trip to London and it certainly won’t be our last thanks to this hotel! Everything at the Angel Islington was fantastic, the room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel also. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. One lady in particular ( unfortunately I didn’t get her name) was so kind she gifted my daughter a beautiful handmade crocheted dolls cushion and blanket my daughter was delighted with this! The manager was very friendly and helpful too when we decided to stay an extra night he was very accommodating. We had breakfast for 3 days and the food was lovely! I couldn’t fault this hotel or the staff at all, we had an amazing stay and will most certainly be back at Angel Islington on our next trip to London.

Breakfast team are literally the nicest people ever!!! Marie, Giovanni, and Dan (the chef) were so kind. They checked for allergies, gave us a clear list of allergens, found us a table and walked us to it, brought us our plant milk and then custom cooked us veggie sausages and bacon! It’s was like we had gone out for breakfast, everyone was so kind and attentive! Best. Breakfast. Service. Ever.

Such a brilliant stay. We arrived jet lagged, check in was easy and quick and we were offered soy milk for our room. At breakfast the server Marie was SO helpful and knowledgeable about our dairy allergy and chef Dan cooked our food seperately (and beautifully) all overseen by Giovanni. Really impressed by such a high standard of service, we felt very looked after x

I arrived at the hotel and following check in I went to my room (room 205). At first glance the room was dirty and there was an unknown substance in the sink. There was also a substance in the bath which I think was human sick. I went downstairs to complain. The hotel night manager apologised but he had no spare rooms so he offered to clean my room. I went out for evening meal whilst this happened. Once room 205 was cleaned I went back into it and it looked better. However, whilst fitting sheets to the spare (smaller) bed my child lifted the mattress to find a homemade sex toy. It was dirty and the smell is indescribable. Right now you probably think I am making this up but this is 100% true. The manager was called to the room and he was in shock, very apologetic and took photos. He described this situation as the worst thing he'd seen whilst working in hotels. I also took photos which are attached. As you can see it is a combination of a vegetable connected using silver tape to a coat hangar. Now, the manager did get the item removed and did clean up the room, but there were no spare rooms so my child and I had to sleep in room 205 even though it felt very unclean and still smelt terrible. I will leave this here because even as I am typing I can't quite believe this happened, and I need to gag. Premier Inn have now refunded my stay, but I feel it's only right I let fellow travellers know.
