"Comfortable but poor communication"
Overall a good stay in the hub as it provides a comfortable, well equipped stay in a prime location - close to Hyde Park and local tube stations. We have previously stayed in a hub Hotel and found the early check in system fair and useful. Unfortunately, on this trip we found communication regarding check-in to be poor. On arrival we asked about early-check-in availability and we were told that unless we had booked this online? (we checked this afterwards and the only mention of early check-in is to ask staff on arrival) then no rooms would be available until 3pm. We asked if there was chance any rooms would come available early than this time and were abruptly reminded it was 3pm. While another member of staff kindly said that if we came around 2:30 then this would be ok. We later arrived at the hotel around 2:15 to find a lobby full of guests waiting to check in. Every time a person arrived and asked to check in they were promptly told 3pm with no further explanation. One lady even asked, “does that mean all 50+ people in this lobby will have to line up at 3pm to check in?” This caused much inconvenience with multiple people applying make up while others resorted to a complete outfit change in the middle of the lobby! Sure enough at 2:50 a line began which spilled out of the door and onto the street! We understand the regular check in was 3pm, but the system to make everybody wait until this point seemed unnecessary, particularly missing the point of early check-in etiquette. The hotel could help to accommodate guests, particularly when an event is taking place locally, by making allowances for changing areas etc. Regardless we did enjoy our stay, the breakfast was lovely and room cosy and comfortable.

"Surprisingly good"
Booked by my business I was all set not to like “The Hub”, but from the efficient and friendly welcome to the clean very comfortable, if a little compact, rooms, I was impressed. Well thought through details like the pull out desk and consolidated lighting controls were good. Breakfast also good value at £8 for an endless buffet including cooked options.

"Good connections to all of London. Was just okay."
I paid to check in early as we had afternoon plans, so went to use the kiosk as the person at reception was seeing someone else. I was told I had to check in at the desk, but I went to scan my QR code and the person there shouted to me that I needed to check in at the desk. So I ended up waiting when I could have done it myself. I told them I had a QR code and asked if needed to scan it. They said that was for the kiosk...literally what I was going to do before they told me not to use it. Not something that would put me off but did think it was a waste of time having the self check in when I couldn't use it. No sign to say it was broken so I'll assume positive intent that it was.
Room was on a high floor, which I prefer. It was really clean and well air conditioned. We visited during the hottest days ever so I am so thankful the air con worked! Not much of a window, a tiny slated window which looked out onto a roof area. I knew as it was a hub it wouldn't have much of a view but something to note if you're bothered about that.
For me, the bed was too small. I was also unsure why the duvet cover didn't fit the duvet properly. The duvet wasn't too heavy either to be fair which was great in the heat.
Also, the shower and tap water pressure was not hard/fast enough. Washing my hands, water was going everywhere because of how the water came out the taps. I felt like I had to take a longer than usual shower to feel clean because it felt like the water was just dribbling. I know this will be because of their water efficiency they have but I didn't think I'd notice a difference.
I am not a tea/coffee drinker but be aware, all tea and coffee was free but in the reception area.
It does have good connections to all of London. It is a 5 minute walk from Edgware Road and Marylebone tube stations. It is walkable from Paddington but given the heat we didn't do that. I'd stay again if it was the last hotel available but personally I have stayed in better hotels in London that provide the same or similar value for money.
