"Read the reviews before booking"
We gave it a 3 because of the location ( next to Chessington World ) and the breakfast was tasty....When we booked the hotel we weren't aware that the restaurant/pub attached to it was not opened as an actual restaurant ( previously The Monkey Puzzle) but just a place to eat breakfast and dinner ( very limited menu) for premier inn guests. When I asked the receptionist in Premier inn if it was opened he said he wasn't sure.. its depends ( helpful 😒) and I was to go and ask the restaurant at 5pm. Got to our room and it was clean(ish) smelled like bleach. Went to the bathroom and it was not that clean ( attached photos )
We normally stay in premier inn hotels whenever we go somewhere and the breakfast has always ben good so no bad reviews there apart from the were continuously out of things so had to wait for some hot food. I also head one of the older waitress say to another staff that "she has just put stuff out and for it to be gone so soon is ridiculous" there was quite a few people there , so not surprised.
The good thing about it really was as we were going to Chessington World it is literally a 3 minute walk
Unfortunately we won't be returning to this one soon.

"Need a refurb!"
Recently stayed here for a family trip to Chessington. We’ve stayed at premier inns before and this was disappointing. The hotel was quite dirty, mould was in the bathrooms and the rooms, carpets weren’t the best, toilet was disgusting too. Our friends hung clothes in the wardrobe and the next door morning they came out smelling and feeling damp. The whole room needed a good clean and the hotel needs a refurb, on the ground floor you can just hear people moving around all night from upstairs. Food was great in the restaurant, but the chairs were filthy and needed a good clean, when we went to breakfast there was food on the floor from the night before, also cobwebs everywhere. It’s in great distance if your visiting chessington, but I wouldn’t go running back.

"Worst premier inn experience"
Hotel was not clean, dirt up the stairs, in the corridors and the room had not been cleaned. We know this as the last person in the room had left a pair of shorts that were still under the bed! The room was unbearably hot but the air con was above my child's bed so couldn't leave that on as she was getting cold.
I called the hotel a few days before our visit asking if we need to book a table at the restaurant and was told no it's not busy.
We had spent a day at the theme park and returned for an evening meal to be turned away at the restaurant because we had not booked!
The bar was out of a lot of drinks making it a very expensive round of drinks (no draft coke only bottles which were more in price, ran out of 'happy hour' drink options)
Tried to explain to hotel staff about the room with light switches not working, shower rail dropping so bathroom door wouldn't open fully and mould around the sink and shower. Took speaking to the second member for them to make a note of it and assurance they would pass it to the manager.

"Dirty hotel and restaurant. Very disappointed"
The room was dirty and had a very bad smell of mould. We had the meal deal in the restaurant and the food choices on the set menu were awful. We had a frozen pizza and macaroni cheese which was obviously out of a tin. The food was at least edible even though the choice was minimal. Two staff members run off their feet trying to man the bar and serve customers food when it was very busy. The restaurant was dirty and when we returned for breakfast the following morning, the food on the floor from the previous night was still there. The toilets were also smelly and dirty. The breakfast was cremated, the fried egg was so rubbery it looked fake. Even the continental items were hard and clearly not fresh. Very disappointed with our visit and would certainly not return. We stay in premier inn hotels every other month and often choose them over other hotels due to the positive experiences we have in them. This was the worst one we’ve ever stayed in. Totally different standards to any of the others.

"A reasonable budget option for Chessington theme park"
This is not your typical premier inn. It desperately needs a full refurb as the hotel is extremely tired. The restaurant next door has seen much better times too. Even so, for about £50 per night and with offers often available including free breakfast, it is hard to complain; you get a what you pay for!
The staff work tirelessly and are all extremely friendly even under such difficult conditions.
Note that the ‘meal deal’ isn’t quite the deal is appears to be. The portions are small and the kids meals are relatively expensive for what you get, not the typical offering from premier inn. See photos for the menu.
In summary if you are visiting chessington with family and want to keep the costs down, this is a good option: you can leave the car here and walk to the theme park in the morning.
Spending a bit more to stay at Epsom presents far better opportunities for evening dining, including a decent Wetherspoons, with only a very short drive in the morning.
