Chessington hotel

Booked in for a four night stay. Waiting to check in with a queue behind us with the guy at the counter getting stressed because he didn't know what he was doing…he ’ordered’ everyone to use self check in. Got to room…AC broken with remote hanging off wall with exposed wires. Window open so flying insects had occupied room before us! Room was smelly & depressingly small with no wardrobe, minute bedside shelves and no adequate bathroom extractor so a soaking wet bathroom after every shower. My wife and I Tried to go to restaurant with my son who was not staying at the premier and we were refused. Next night, we called into restaurant for the two of us and the polite lady behind bar said she was on her own and could not serve us food due to lack of staff so could we eat somewhere else but offered us drinks. Absolutely unbelievable experience! Especially the restaurant….went to shy horse down the road and had a great meal!!

I thought you knew what your getting with a Premier Inn and im starting to think thats its poor service in the restaurant of an evening. Staff were unpleasant and e evening food was cold and Disappointing to get a shower rather than a bath in a family room when staying with a toddler. Room was clean and quite just a shame about the staff and food.

Firstly, staff were all helpful and friendly when asked. Disabled parking good. Husband and I stayed in accessible room with wet room shower. Shower room was good and very useful. Comparing to Premier Inns we have stayed in previously, room lighting could have been better and there seemed to be less table/counter space to put drinks and belongings on. Now why on earth do Premier Inn put an accessible room at the end of of a very long corridor ? Quite a slog for me to push husband in wheelchair, and to transport our luggage in and out. Also I wish we had known before booking that the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was in a separate building. This is not clear from the web site (otherwise we would not have booked). Access is by a sloping, winding path, not easy when pushing a wheelchair. I suggested to one of the staff that a shrub which was narrowing the path should be cut back. She said she would report that and try to get it done, which was a good response. We generally find Premier Inns very useful for providing Accessible Rooms, but the facilities and layout in this one are less good than others we have used.

Good location, but food options very minimal since Premier Inn decided to close the attached Beefeater (which they seem to be doing across the country) which was a thriving busy pub with a great menu. Wanted the fish & chips, as it was the only choice I wanted from the menu. But this was unavailable, I waited forty minutes for a starter even though the restaurant only had one table of four before me. No drinks on tap, as they had a problem with a cooler. Only two members of staff on duty, the chef & front of house. When it got busy they were really struggling to cope, the employee from reception had to come & help with the orders. Staff were very polite & helpful, even though they were having to work under immense pressure. Walls in the rooms seem to be very thin, you can hear the slightest noise from the next room. Breafast was buffet style , but what was available was cold. Gave up on waiting for missing items. Bacon, Eggs, Hash browns.

Booked in after a long day at work room very good staff very friendly that’s the good bit on arrival I was told that at the pub next door I couldn’t have food due to a large booking and staff issues so had to order food in but I was ok to go in and get a drink but all the draught beer was off bottles only not what I normally drink but after a while all the cold bottles had been sold so semi warm beer was available outside the pub there’s a couple of tables but no lights on outside it’s pitch black so watch how you navigate your way back to the premier inn. Overall not impressed i use premier inn a lot with work but next time I will give this one a miss.
