Tewkesbury hotel

The hotel part was great. As you would expect of the hotel. The restaurant connected to the hotel which was recently refurbished looks lovely & nicely presented. BUT 1 member of staff front of house & (I assume) 1 member of staff in the kitchen. For a restaurant that had approximately 30+ tables. I saw 4 couples/families turned away because (overheard the excuse) of the kitchen capacity to produce. I ordered my food after a couple, waited 30 minutes for a pizza to turn up, ate it & left before the couple got their food. 1 pizza, a portion of chips & 2 pints came to £31. Not acceptable too, especially for the quality of service. Its not the staff's fault. This is a seriously bad business model & Premier Inn need to re-evaluate how to make money & stop skrimping on staff. You have lost out on a lot of money today

Typical Premier Inn with high standards of cleanliness, very good facilities, excellent breakfast, and particularly good staff. It is a stiff mile, and a bit walk into town, although there are regular bus services to the high life (?) of Tewkesbury even on Sunday evenings.... but It is of of course just yards from the motorway. Nice place to stay and relax,

Booked a premier plus room which meant that we could check in at 11 am. We arrived at reception where a young girl on her first day was seated and no other staff around. She rang for a member of staff tocome when they did. We were told that our room wasn’t ready because the previous guests hadn’t checked out and they didn’t need to check out 12 midday. Don’t know how that works if you’ve got a premier plus room and you check in at 11!!! they found us another room which they had just made up. It was fine. We just had to ask for extra coffee and milk etc The restaurant was very small and the staff were very elusive. It took us quite awhile to find a member of staff to serve us with a drink. Breakfast was awful. We booked for 8am however the scrambled egg was nearly crispy, it seemed like it had been in the dish for ages. The mushrooms were shrivelled and cold, and also the hashbrowns were cold. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, there are some nicer places in town.

Reviews from over 11 months ago suggest that no meaningful improvements have been made to the restaurant. Waiting times are shockingly long, with children left without food while adults received their meals 45 minutes earlier. During our visit, several tables became so frustrated that they cancelled their orders and walked out, despite the restaurant not even being half full. Overall, a very disappointing experience that clearly reflects ongoing issues with service and management.

Appalling restaurant facilities. Staff disappearing up their own backsides to look after guests. And all with a smile! Premier inn... DO BETTER!!
