Stroud hotel

The staff were welcoming and the restaurant waitress made a special effort to ensure I had a suitable table as a single, elderly man.

We were really impressed with firstly the size of the family room, the tidiness and the facilities to allow us to turn up get ready and go. The location was perfect also as it was so close to my Aunties home and church we attended. The boys loved the single beds and space it provided them plus the tv table stand to use for drawing. We both loved the layout and it was lovely to have a bath in the morning. Breakfast was outstanding so nice to have so much choice and a very helpful staff member give us a nice tour of where everything was. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful which made our stay more enjoyable. No issues with parking nice and out of the way at the back. A lovely stay we will come back. Room 114

Firstly I need to say the staff were amazing, so accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were clean but our double room needed extra towels which reception solved and delivered them in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately we stayed here at the end of one of the hottest weeks in June, there is no air conditioning but a powerful )although noisy) fan was provided in our rooms. One of our party requested a family room as a 6yr old and 7 week old were accompanying us, unfortunately the room was on the 1st Floor needing all the paraphernalia that travelling with children requires to be carried up 3 short flights of stairs, through fire doors, along a corridor and down another short flight of stairs 🥵 . Not the best start and the early paid for availability of their room was delayed Outside the Reception area were waste disposal bins which attracted flies as you entered which was not pleasant at times. I know this seems like a moan but it just seem to me that the facilities let down the lovely people who are working hard to make their guests stay as enjoyable as possible. Come on Sir Henry ! Buck the brand up ! Would I stay again…. I think I would ! But maybe not in a Flaming June !!!😂🥵💜

The room was nice - spacious and with a comfortable bed. The hotel is in an old building, so there is no lift. Since I had heavy luggage, I would have booked a ground floor room if I had known this. Breakfast was good and the service was good, but there were a lot of flies near the hot food area. It is about a 15 minute hilly walk from the station.

We enjoyed a two night stay, ample free parking when you register car details, friendly, welcoming receptionist and our room was clean and well maintained. Peaceful sleep on both nights. The location is good, opposite a lovely park and museum and a ten minutes walk to the town centre. A brass band was playing in the park on the Sunday afternoon which was a bonus and we would definitely stay again.
