Gloucester (Quayside) hotel

We booked for 2 nights for a family funeral and booked the hotel with breakfast which we were promised the day before by email was still available even though renovations were underway. When we got there it was not until we asked later in the evening where breakfast was the next day that we were told there was no breakfast and we would be refunded. We had to find another place to have breakfast. Not very happy when it was already a stressful journey.

Had a great weekend stay for our annual cycling weekend. Special thanks to Hidi who checked us in and ensured we had a good stay, excellant value for money and nice people.

This hotel is a typical modern Premier Inn that benefits from being adjacent to Gloucester Quays shopping, and the many restaurants around the Gloucester Docks area, and in easy walking distance of the rest of the city centre. It is easy to reach by road from around the city, but it is quite a distance from the rail and bus stations. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and there is a reasonable amount of free car parking around the hotel. It is a great pity that at present, breakfast facilities are reduced to the provision of a complimentary croissant and coffee, following the closure of the adjacent Beefeater restaurant which used to provide the excellent Premier Inn breakfasts that have been an enjoyable feature of our stays at Premier Inn hotels in the past.

Stayed two nights and as always we got Premier Inn quality and staff. Very helpful, very friendly and a pleasure to stay there. Well located with good car parking on the edge of the city and excellent bus services from about 100 metres down the road let us park up for three days and not worry about driving in or finding and paying to park. Just a pity that they have closed the adjoining Beefeater pub. It now has nowhere to sit in the evening and have a drink. A backward move by the chain as I will now think twice before booking Premier Inn again.

Fine on arrival, promised complimentary fruit, croissants and drinks for the breakfast, even toast was mentioned verbally / confirmed by another couple. Anyway, morning 1....1 apple nil of everything else bar coffee and teas which were in your room anyway. Next day zero fruit, several criossants and coffee/tea. This was an extremely poor as a complimentary offer due the building refurbishment. Now for the room. Excrement on the toilet paper holder and on wall next to it. My wife was then using wipes constantly, worried about what else wasnt cleaned. Now I have been before and things have been fine, but this visit was very substandard.
