Gloucester (Little Witcombe) hotel

We were staying on the ground floor near the car park. When we checked in there was an empty bottle lying on the floor. There were towels for only one person, although two were booked in. The peep hole was damaged and a piece of paper had been rolled up and shoved in place! The room was a little smelly and there were stray hairs on the bed. We thought the smell was wafting in from outside. We were out most of the evening and left the window ajar to ventilate. It didn't help. It smelled of stale urine. We complained in the morning and bedding was changed. It didn't entirely eradicate the smell. We complained to Guest Relations who told us we should have complained the evening before and not waited till morning. This unhelpful response was received two months after our complaint and a phone call from us. We were advised that Little Witcombe had ignored 2 emails about this. Apparently, we only received a response because we phoned and didn't let it drop. We think they were waiting long enough to tell us - the issue was too far in the past to corroborate. Perhaps this was a one off - either way we will not be staying at this hotel as we do not feel hygiene is an optional extra.

Always friendly staff at reception. Quiet, comfortable and clean rooms. The fan was great as it was quite warm when we last stayed. Good sized car park. Noise has never been an issue. I would recommend little witcombe premier having stayed there many times over the years.

This has to be the worst Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. The room was 28.5 degrees, despite the outside temperature being only 19 degrees, throughout our 2 night stay, despite 2 noisy fans having to being switched on all night. We checked thst the room heating was off, it was. We were unable to open the window and no facility to open the top window. We were unable to sleep due to the oppressive heat of the room. The pillows were hard and we spent a most uncomfortable 2 night stay.

Great to be back again , always love staying here . Reception team are so friendly and polite and rooms are outstanding . Even with renovations going on this did not affect our stay.

Great price, always spotlessly clean. Some staff not as friendly as they used to be but not really a problem. Restaurant currently closed but not too much of a problem either as there is a Toby Carvery within walking distance so we just went there. Some building works going on to make a breakfast bar downstairs. Pub due to reopen soon but will be now completely independent of Premier Inn so no more meal deals. Great location, handy for M5/A417 and the Cotswolds.
