Gloucester Business Park hotel

Stayed at this one as convenient for work. I won't stay again though unless desperate! Rooms have been refurbished and are very comfortable but as others have mentioned the water pressure is poor. The aircon worked OK but didn't drop the temp that much, during the heatwave the room was bearable. I've since stayed at the one in Cheltenham and that room was noticeably colder. Main reason I would avoid this one in future is that they are charging for parking. It isn't as if people would use their spaces to visit somewhere else locally because there aren't any close attractions. It's just plain greed!

Good location. Staff very friendly and helpful and familiar from previous visits, a good sign. Room as expected, basic but comfortable. In a heatwave, the aircon worked well and wasn’t noisy. Comfortable bed and pillows. Low shower pressure. Only one room in the hotel with a walk in shower, an “accessible “ room. They need more - showers are more popular and use less water! Restaurant next door good value, again basic but fine. Staff great and we remembered them from a previous visit too. Breakfast good value. Paid parking, but only £3 per 24 hours. Convenient for our relatives, and close to M5. Plumbing could use an update.

We have used this hotel several times due to its proximity to family members and its value for money, amongst other reasons. Unfortunately, there have been some significant (to me) changes which mean that we will be seriously considering whether we use this venue in the future. The first issue is the fact that, in an area where all parking is monitored, this hotel has decided to start charging for parking on a daily rate. This would appear to be opportunism at the very least. The other issue is that the water pressure has been reduced to a level which defies belief. If I was out walking and it rained at the intensity of the shower in the hotel, I wouldn't even bother with an umbrella. Filling the small kettle from the sink even took a while. The combination of parking charges and low water must be making this hotel very profitable, until people (like us) stop coming.
