Cheltenham Central (West/A40) hotel

We've had a lovely overnight stay here. Despite the busy A40 and a Maccies outside it's actually pretty quiet over night. We weren't disturbed at all. The young man who booked us in was friendly, smiley and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, in fact the whole hotel was. We've just had a beautiful breakfast courtesy of John. He cooked our eggs and my veggie sausages to order. He was polite and assured us that we should ask for anything else we needed. He tidied tables and greeted people in between cooking eggs & porridge without missing a beat. What a gem he is! We would stay here and have breakfast again.

Overnighted on Sunday May 3rd in transit. Usual excellent standard. Stay at Premiere Inns as first preference in UK. Joel the chef cooked and presented the perfect full English breakfast. I'm talking 10/10 perfect. Every single ingredient of outstanding quality cooked to perfection by Joel. Joel's personal service and attention to detail was outstanding. Suggest Premiere Inn shower Joel with promotion and gold. Michael G.

Great location. Service was lovely. Economy hotel, but clean and comfy bed! The tub was deep and great for a long hot soak after a day of hinking in the Cotswolds. Recommend getting the breakfast option- excellent breakfast service (chef treated you like you were at a michelen star restaurant 😁). If you want something lighter, McDonalds is right next door. Deya Brewing is a 10 min walk away for excellent Beer and Food Truck style eats!

Needed a place closed to town centre. Easy to find. Check in ok. Had to decide what time we wanted breakfast due to small breakfast room!!. Premier plus room- ok, nothing special but clean and newly decorated I think. Shame not a walk in shower but nice toiletries. Coffee machine but no decaffeinated!!! So couldn't use it. Tiny bars of chocolate but no hot chocolate sachets. No biscuits either. Good WiFi and TV and lots of sockets. Didn't like wardrobe, no drawers!! Went out to dinner, Harvester, 5 minutes away. Good nights sleep, not too noisy, comfy bed as always. Breakfast ok, poached eggs ordered, had to ask for a couple of things. Again no decaffeinated in coffee machine only horrible packet. 😞. Good choice of hot breakfast.

As with a Premier Inn you vaguely know what you are getting, so nothing to comment about the room layout, bed etc. But sadly the thing that let's this hotel down (or at least for out stay) was the cleanliness of our room (room 14). The pillow case was stained, another pillowcase was on inside out, there were hairs in the shower, toilet tissue on the bathroom floor, and the bathroom sink wasn't very clean. Also the floorboards for the room above is so noisy which was very disruptive for sleeping. The sound proofing in general between rooms isn't good. The breakfast on the other hand we would give 5 stars! It was Joel who cooked our breakfast and perfectly cooked eggs. He was so polite and could see he took real care in his work. He is a real asset to the hotel. Was the best Premier Inn breakfast I've had. Plus the coffee machine was making fairly strong coffee, which is great, in contrast to many Premier Inn breakfasts that serve very milky weak coffee. Overall the stay did the job, we only stayed one night. But the breakfast we couldn't fault at all, that part of our stay was great.
