"Great value hotel"
Lots of free parking, easy check-in and check-out, friendly reception staff, lift was working, clean bedoom and bathroom, comfy bed, quiet building, tasty breakfast that was well priced. Overall, our stay was very good value for the price we paid.

"1 Star – Shocking Lack of Customer Care and Subpar Facilities"
As a loyal Premier Inn guest of over 15 years, this stay at Waltham Abbey was easily the worst experience I have ever had—so much so that I will never use the chain again.
We booked this stay to gather with family who had traveled all the way from Switzerland, while simultaneously attending multiple demanding wedding events. Returning to the hotel exhausted late each night, our stay was ruined by major issues across the board:
Abysmal Management & Hostility:
When I brought up serious hygiene concerns—specifically finding bugs in the room—the manager (Gitana) was incredibly confrontational, rude, and aggressive. Instead of listening or offering an apology, she immediately went into attack mode, blaming me for not coming down to report it at 2:00 AM.
Her communication was difficult to understand, but her dismissive, egoistic attitude made it clear she had zero interest in customer service or resolving the issue.
Severe Parking & Accessibility Failures:
Accessible parking was completely non-existent. Commercial vans had overrun the entire lot, taking over designated disabled bays without displaying any Blue Badges. The hotel clearly enforces zero parking control for guests with accessibility needs.
Unacceptable Cleanliness:
The hygiene standards in both the bedroom and bathroom were so appalling that it completely ruined our appetite, forcing us to refuse to eat at the hotel restaurant.
*A Serious Thought for Management*
It is one thing for a hotel to run into an unexpected hygiene or maintenance issue; it is another entirely for management to handle a guest with immediate hostility.
Blaming a guest for not escalating a pest problem at 2:00 AM—while they are exhausted and navigating complex family obligations—demonstrates a total breakdown of basic empathy.
When a 15-year loyal customer is met with defensiveness instead of accountability, it proves the core issue at Waltham Abbey isn't just room cleanliness—it is an utter failure of leadership and guest care.
Save your money and book elsewhere.
