Thurrock West hotel

Very helpful staff, clean rooms. Delicious freshly cooked food. Breakfast and dinner available at convenient times.

Only 1 member of staff on at the restaurant customers having to wait over an hour to be seated and then over 1.5 hours to get there food

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. 2 adults and 2 children. I booked through the Premier Inn app. Unfortunately the app keeps resetting to family room, 2 adults, 1 child and 1 cot despite me updating these settings when searching for and booking hotel. We arrived late into the evening and having travelled over 4hrs we quickly checked in and went straight out to grab something to eat. Upon getting back to the hotel and entering the room for the first time we realised we’d be given a cot instead of another bed. I immediately went down to reception and the receptionist explained that’s how it had been booked. I explained that this has happened before (at another Premier Inn) when booking through the app that’s it’s somehow gone to default despite me updating details when booking. Anyway, receptionist said they were full and without another pull out bed in the room there was no options. The receptionist then kindly said she would contact the night manager (I think that’s what they’re called). Fortunately after half an hour (which we didn’t mind waiting) she managed to sort it out and we got a room with the right set up and number of beds, 1 dbl and 2 sgl. Thank you Martina for sorting this out. We went to the hotel bar whilst we were waiting, small yet clean and tidy bar. We didn’t stay in it too long as they stopped serving at 11pm. The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, very pleasant staff and excellent service. The hotel is located very near to Lakeside Shopping Mall (I don’t think it’s walking distance) but it was a short drive away. I would recommend this hotel. Parking is charged at £7.50 per night for guests.

Room was lovely. Paid for 2 breakfast as we were celebrating an anniversary, came down to wait for the breakfast buffet to be refilled. Long long queue a very rude member of staff said when I asked how long would the breakfast be thought it was ok to shout and at me and speak to me like I was nothing. There was enough of us waiting and all I did was politely ask how long. The chef then come out and had a go at the same member of staff for leaving the hot food sitting there and not bringing it out. Completely ruined my anniversary trip here!

Had a great stay at this hotel! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. What really stood out was the service—especially from Maria. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Thanks to her, the whole experience felt extra special. Highly recommend!
