Thurrock West hotel

Always a great stay here, Barbara and all the staff are friendly and professional, always a welcoming approach. Thank you to all the staff here, everyone is a credit to the company. KR, J

I would like to say I have stayed at this hotel with work many times and have always found it ok (not the best but ok) however this visit was very different and I can say I will now be staying at the Travelodge at Lakeside and have cancelled all my future bookings for the year at this hotel. Lets start with check in. In the technological world you are now expected to check in via a screen which you are greeted with when you walk in (yes no friendly hello and welcome no more) check in is at 3 pm so when arriving at 3:40 you would expect your room to be ready (mine was not). so after the screen kindly informed me my room was unavailable I went over to the desk where I had to press the door bell to be even acknowledged by a member of staff (I get its not the Hilton but come on these people work in hospitality surly a warm welcome is the first thing anyone should receive). after several minutes a rather abrupt woman appeared and responded with "NAME" and then handed me my key, i guess she wasn't feeling very talkative. I was in room 14 on the ground floor (a floor in which I have never stayed before) maybe this floor is the grotty rooms but when I walked in I felt like I had been given the worst room, marks all over the walls as well as a few rather large holes that had been filled but not painted, dusty surfaces, a chair from the restaurant in front of the mirror, as well as a armchair with half the buttons missing and stains all over it and i mean these stains to mee looked like someone had had a very good time in that chair. the best part was when looking around I noticed something all down the side of the bed, on closer inspection this was actually sick form a previous guest that had not been clean and instead just left to dry with all the lumps still attached to the side of the bed. I did request a new room but was told there was non available we will move onto that soon. The restaurant well don't stay hear if you are expecting a warm cosy environment to eat in, the restaurant had no atmosphere at all no music or any background noise everyone just sat in silence staring at their phones, also take a coat as I had to go to my room to get mine as I was sat shivering. Again the ever delightful team that work here was their usual drab lifeless selves (quite frankly shouldn't be working in hospitality if you cant even crack a smile or get the basics right) anyway enough about them, the food is very very basic here think if McDonald's was going bust and needed to clear their stock but only had a grill in the carpark to cook it on (yes really that terrible) the food made me really unwell with an upset stomach and sickness not long after. After my meal I was heading back to my room when I noticed a very large group of travellers checking in around 50 of them (you always know you are in for a fun night when they turn up with their barbie dolls and stolen cars) they where already causing a scene at reception and already very drunk with alcohol bottles in their hands ((again this is going to be fun) I went back to my room and all I could hear was shouting and arguing, barbie's stomping around in their stripper heels and just general chaos. Around 2 hours later as a vaper I went out for a vape, when I walked into the reception I was greeted by 3-5 men all their underwear drinking and the dolly birds all in their dressing gowns, the fall was covered with food wrappers and food that had clearly been thrown around as well as alcohol bottles and spilt alcohol all over the place. They where clearly heavily intoxicated but was allowed to continue their stay and treat the hotel as they treat everything like s**t ! When I was heading back to my room I was greeted on my corridor by a lad relieving himself in the corridor as well as his mate throwing up in it (of course whilst holding their bottles of alcohol still). For me this entire trip was awful and like I say I have stayed at this hotel a lot and this was the final straw. I will now be taking my business elsewhere. AVOID AND DO NOT BOOK !

The first night we got there, the hairdryer blew up in my face! We woke up in the morning and my one year-old boy stood on plastic glass that was let in the room and cut all he’s foot open

The Premier Inn Thurrock West is a very clean, quiet and comfortable hotel with friendly staff and excellent beds. The location near Lakeside and easy access to the A13/M25 make it ideal for a short stay or transit. It is very good value for money and the rooms are spacious and well maintained.
