Saffron Walden hotel

We were party of a larger wedding party, over 10+ rooms. I had booked my rooms approximately a year ago. When booking I opted for the meal deal. On the morning of check in I received a message from family telling us there was no restaurant available for the evening meal or breakfast. Myself and the rest of my close family had not been called. Thinking this was a mistake i call the reservations center, they new nothing of the issue. I called Saffron Walden directly and Molly informed me that there was no restaurant and that she had been calling guests the previous day to let them know. Molly was polite but gave no apology for not calling me and no apology for the restaurant being closed only an acknowledgement that it was inconvenient. When asked she confirmed a refund would be issued. I called the reservation centre back to have this confirmed but again they know nothing about it. I cancelled the meal deal myself to ensure a refund was issued. At the time if writing I am waiting for the refund but this also worries me as i am still waiting for a refund for the room I cancelled 7 days ago. This is not an acceptable way to treat any guests at anytime but this was the morning of a wedding which caused a large number of the wedding party, including the bride extra stress.

Lovely new setup. Friendly service, fried eggs were runny in the middle. Well worth it.

Lovely breakfast and lovely dinner. Staff attendant and all food was tasty and hot. Well worth the stay and will definitely stay again

Great stay great food. Staff are friendly. Must stay here. Good coffee good interior design. Everywhere is nice and clean

The Hotel was having renovations completed on there restaurant, so there was a little mess from the building work. This did not interfere with our enjoying our stay. The staff were also helpful and informative. the room was facing a well lite retail parks carpark, we thought it would be noisy but it was so peaceful you would have thought you were in the countryside.
