"Attitude at reception , dirty room , and excessive noise"
Attitude at reception when asked for early check in , no air conditioning, fan broken, room was filthy, smelt like a bar, was woke up at 12am by people screaming outside then woken at 7 am by building work in car park would of rather slept in my car , avoid at all costs would of drove Colchester if had known

"Good location for overnight after arrival by ferry."
Good location, friendly staff, basic but clean hotel room, bar and restaurant next door and accessible through lobby, simple but good continental breakfast buffet and for one pound more a cooked breakfast made to order as well, large parking lot. Perfect for an overnight stay, when arriving by ferry in the evening.
Be aware, there is no airconditioning in the rooms, but good electric table fan is provided. We stayed on a very hot night and got through and slept well with help of the fan, but do not know if it would have worked good for us should it have been a longer stay than just an overnight.

"Perfect place to stay for Ferry Crossing"
Best location, directly opposite the port entrance for the ferry to Holland. Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom, fluffy towels. During the heatwave, a very powerful fan was provided (nice touch!) The Staff are lovely. Restaurant/bar onsite with supermarket opposite.

"Don't stay in hot weather"
It was a hot day and we looked forward to a restful night before getting the ferry. Upon arrival we struggled to see where to access the hotel but eventually found it through the Lidl car park.
Our room had a fan running and window open but unfortunately didn't drop below 28 degrees all night with no air con (only for heating?). It was our worst night sleep in a hotel ever. The breakfast was ok although juice container was low upon opening at 6.30am and the fruit salad was fizzy like it had been prepared and sat for a while. The room was clean but hotel had some dated parts. The heat issue puts us off staying in another PI.

Natalie and Sue could not have been more friendly and definitely deserve recognition for going over and above informing us immediately by email of an item left by us in the room and keeping it safe for a month on our return.

Hotel description
It may be one of the Haven Ports, but there's a lot more to Harwich than boats and water, as a stay at Premier Inn Hotel Harwich will tell you. We're great as a stopover if you're catching the ferry, but there's also plenty to do here even if you're not sailing away.
Spend your morning wandering the picturesque streets of Harwich, stumbling across some delightful buildings that date back centuries. Or catch a train to Colchester, Britain's oldest town, to see the castle or visit the world-famous zoo. The Edwardian seaside town Felixstowe is nearby too. Then come back to the hotel for some tasty food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant and a lovely, comfy bed.
