took my family for some breakfast and the staff were amazing on shift helping with anything we asked, food came out quickly and was lovely

Standard Premier Inn family room, fairly quiet, comfortable and clean. Just 10-15 minutes from Colchester zoo. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.

Popped in last week for breakfast after thinking this place had closed, was served by Hayley she was rushed off her feet and they were clearly short staffed, despite this service was prompt. Me and my wife had a cooked breakfast the bacon was slightly rubbery like it’d had been sat for a little while but other than that there was no complaints and I will be returning!! Thank you Hayley deserve a raise!!

Big accessible room . Wet room. Easy access for wheelchair. Friendly reception

This stay was the worst we’ve ever had with Premier Inn and we’ve stayed at many of them, all over the country. We usually find them clean and tidy warm and welcoming. This stay was not good - we entered the room around 210a.m after a 3 hour drive down from Lincolnshire, through rain and sleet so the temperature outside was rather cold and we found the room to be just as cold . The heating wasn’t in and the thermostat didn’t work when we tried to turn it on. We sat on the bed debating whether just to climb under the covers and sleep only to find the bed itself felt damp! We obviously complained and asked to be moved but there were no more rooms available. The receptionist brought a heater to the room for us to plug in and he said he would turn the room heating on from behind the reception desk. ???? Why was it even off?? It was February, sleeting and bloomin cold outside so why hadn’t the heating been switched on hours before we arrived? They were expecting us after all. Not a good night sleep for either of us I’m afraid .
