    "No frills but comfortable"
Booked 2 rooms as we were attending a party nearby. Don't think they could have been further apart if they'd tried, one was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel and the other on the 2nd floor at the rear. Surely a bit of common sense would tell them, I've booked 2 rooms, we want them if not right next door to each other at least on the same floor? Rooms were as expected from a Premier Inn, no frills but comfortable. Did have a very good fan in the room, not that we needed it this weekend but in hotter weather it would have been a godsend. Cleaner obviously didn't look behind the bathroom door in room 18 as there was the previous occupant's dirty boxer shorts on the floor EEUGH. Breakfast ok, quite a small selection for continental and no buffer for the cooked breakfasts you have to order with the waiters but you can have as much as you want. Overheard one man ordering six pieces of bacon and six eggs! £8 to park the car overnight.
    "Give us a break."
Had a lovely stay and the room were clean, the staff friendly. The food for breakfast was really good and plenty of it. We had two rooms for the weekend, it was a fantastic weekend.
    "Mediocre"
We recently stayed at the Premier Inn in Chelmsford for two nights. Upon arrival, I was surprised to be told that the room had only been booked for one person. I explained that it was for myself and my two daughters, and on checking my confirmation, it clearly stated a triple room – which, to my knowledge, you can't book for a single person on the Premier Inn website. Thankfully, this was resolved without too much fuss, but it was a confusing and slightly frustrating start to our stay. The room itself was adequate for our needs. It was clean and functional, though it could use a little TLC in places. My main issues were the extremely loud extractor fan in the bathroom and the fact that the room was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. That said, the location was convenient and overall it served its purpose for a short family break.
"Rundown never to be repeated experience"
I know you can’t expect much for the price with a Premier Lodge but we’ve stayed in some really ok ones before. This is clearly the shabby run down one widely used by workmen wanting an ultra budget experience. The room was dirty, sticky floor, worn, needing total renovation. Only booked in desperation as was limited for availability and thought it would be like others we’ve visited. The only good thing was the receptionist, she was polite and helpful.
"Worst experience of a premier inn"
This is the weirdest hotel I have stayed at and I’m literally writing this as I am here at 4am. Worst sleep ever, you can literally hear EVERYONE’S business. Take of that as you will but it’s like I’m in some swingers hotel. Due to the location, it’s also very loud with traffic, most premier inns have sound cancelling windows etc but this is not the case here. The parking is also £8, which is absolutely extortionate. I paid £9 for a glass of wine. Ouch My bathroom has the funniest smell ever, very foisty and unpleasant. The room is very dated too, looks like it hasn’t been touched in about 15 years. It is fair to say I will not be returning, I know it’s not the hotels fault that people get up to whatever during the early hours of the morning but it was extremely unpleasant when it’s constantly waking you up throughout the night, as well as the mix of the traffic.
