3 nights stay and dining at the restaurant Lovely friendly staff especially Shaylee & Jack

Guess it opened circa 1996. Back in the day it was ideal for visiting friends and family. Good bar, plenty of choice, a good ambience and a busy vibe, great atmosphere. Ball pool and slides for the kids. A small but welcome pack of biscuits in the room. Restaurant had a country fair theme with agricultural overtones, a helter skelter and thatched roofs abound. Nice. Fast forwards some 30 years and what a transformation; the bean counters, the asset managers, the accountants, the brand new "I've got a degree in hospitality" fresh faced and never-been-in-a-pub kids have circled and done their absolute and utmost worse. Ball pool gone, now a meeting room that looks as though its not been used for years and now a storeroom for chairs. Bar down to either Coors or Madri, unsurprisingly empty. Restaurant now a plain dull and gloomy dark wood affair with yellow and grey overtones. Just a few staff on but they do their best and were OK with us. A room for 2 people has one towel; I know we're cosy but that's stretching it. Approach road lighting not working gives a gloomy first impression, Almost expecting Jack Nicholson to burst through the door. Play area fenced off and closed. Rather than sit in the tumbleweed of the bar I went over to the offy at the garage over the road and got some far cheaper beers that I do like even if only in cans. How come we've got to this? Why take a lovely and welcoming concept then rip it to shreds? Folks who weren't even born and who and who can't remember how lovely this place used to be will know no different. Unfortunately we do. Sorry Fobbing, you wont be seeing us again.

Excellent experience, the staff were spot on as was the food & the room. All 4 were amazing many thanks to Wendy, Jack, Ky & Tom. No complaints and being an ex hotel Senior manager from another company this is big praise as we are the worst to please! Will be back at some point in the future I’m sure. Thank you !

Perfect location for me on my own and clearing out a relatives home in corringham Staff couldn't be more attentive , they made me feel welcome and safe . My room was perfect, clean , quiet and comfy . I was offered cleaning or replacing my towels but there was no need . But it's always nice to have that option.i have been to several premier inns in this area over the years to visit family and this is always my favourite . I am very grateful to the staff and those in the beefeater

The rooms are well kept and the staff are lovely. Sarah is very efficient and kind, ensuring I had everything I needed.
