Basildon South Hotel

We stayed on 24th July , which was a very warm day. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm. When we walked into the room in the heat just hit us. Although there was a small fan in the room it was next to useless. The rooms are not air conditioned and the temperature was over 30 degrees. The carpet in the room was dirty and left me with dirty feet after walking on it. I’ve stayed in numerous premier inns and this is not what I expect from them

It was hot at the time we visited and there was a very bad smell in the car park coming from the drains. Fortunately you couldn't smell it inside the room. The check in went okay and when asked for an extension lead for my husband's CPAP machine ibe was provided. We'd stayed here before and previously our room was on the ground floor, car park side, but this time we were 1st floor, A13 side, which proved quite noisy at night and we had to close the window. The room was very clean and tidy as usual as was the bathroom. The WiFi was good also. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast on both days, the choice for both continental and full English were very good and we had good service. I'll be staying here again when we visit family down the road. All in all a good stay and good value for money.

The hotel was in a convenient location for my trip. My room wqs of a good size and the bed comfortable. I enjoyed a nice evening meal and breakfast the following morning in the Beefeater restaurant.

Megan was really helpful, with a warm welcome, and the other ladies at reception were lovely all week too. Same goes for the room service/cleaning staff. Tom and the team in Beefeater next door were really efficient too. Thanks to the chefs for how quickly they delivered breakfast too!
